I'm so very sad to have to share this review. On January 26th, I placed an order at 5pm. 1 large pizza, 1 Ceasar Salad and 4 orders of garlic knots. Initially, our wait time was 45 minutes, then it turned into 75 minutes. We waited the 75 minutes, when 90 minutes came around, I then called Joey's. I dealt with an extremely rude person who answered the phone, I expressed our concern and our situation. They didn't have a care in the world about our place in the matter. I then asked to speak to a manager, they proceeded to tell me that they didn't have a manager to speak with. I then asked how long my food was going to be in addition to the 90 minutes. I got placed on hold and a gentleman Berto got on the line, he said he was very sorry and that he would have someone call me the next day. He said someone was on the way. I live 5 minutes from the restaurant. My food didn't show up until 8:03pm. Two hours after my order was placed. When my order arrived, my pizza and garlic knots were cold, I had no crutons on my salad, no lettuce and just a pile of parmesan cheese. It was very disappointing. I paid in advance and left a nice gratuity to get AWFUL service. 24 hours later, I get a call from Crystal, an owner, she was kind and wanted to make it right, so she gave us a credit to use in the future. I was pleased and excited to use to feed our family of 5 in the near future. WELL, I ordered today and what would you know, our order was wrong again.... when I call to let them know that some items were missing, Joey, the owner proceeded to yell at me, throwing it in my face that I got $30 dollars in free food and I am still not happy... This man was irate and absolutely disrespectful. The point wasn't about the $3.00 knots, it's about making you feel like a valued customer. You screwed again. It's ok, but I'm happy to come pick up the items you left out because your oh so busy. I have spent plenty of money here already since moving to the area in October. My children love this pizza and my youngest who is 5, can't eat pizza LOVES the garlic knots and salad. Being yelled at by an owner of an establishment that I have provided money to in exchange for goods is sickening. Not to mention the example he is teaching his very young employees. Teaching them to hateful, rude and condescending. I attempted to call back and state that I would pick up the garlic knots and got told to go to Dominos, and get the garlic knots, they don't have time for me..... We are very sad and very heart broken by this service. Provide your money to another small business in the area. At this rate, Karma will handle this, ...
Read moreJoey's is the classic thin-crust style pizza I grew up on. I didn't grow up in New York (like Joey did), instead I grew up in East Las Vegas when all there was was 'old school' pizza.
The best recipes start with the right ingredients. Joey's crust is made fresh from the right '00' flour and cut into balls to rest before it's hand-thrown into a pie. The sauce starts with San Marzano tomatoes, and the cheese is good, whole-milk Mozzarella. -- fugetaboutit -- nothing but the right stuff goes into Joey's pizzas.
I shouldn't even mention the meatballs, which are Joey's mama's recipe. These tasty pork-beef-blend morsels are in short supply so don't be surprised if (due to high demand) he runs out once and a while. Try them on a classic Meatball-Parm (sandwich.)
Don't forget to try his wife's canolli's for dessert, because these are a cool, creamy treat to finish off any authentic New York...
Read moreGreat meatball and pepperoni calzone. I will be back to try the pizza that everyone's raving about. Joey is cool and the place looks clean and absolutely N.Y. style through and through. Ok final review of the pizza. 1st one i had the dough was tooo cheeewy! No bueno. So i asked them a couple days later to make me another pie but double pepperoni and well done crust. The 2nd one was a bit better. But im having a problem w the cheese. It taste like the same stuff villa pizza and many other bars use around town. Just coming back from N.Y. last week and having tasted various pies around Manhattan and Brooklyn, there's no comparison. The pizza at joeys doesn't have the same quality you find in N.Y.. I will just have to wait til i get back there to enjoy another REAL pie. I have given up here in LV. So im gonna have to down grade your stars to a 3. Because your calzones...
