Chicken salad sandwichā¦delicious. Raspberry mocha latteā¦delicious. Employees and the atmosphereā¦.TERRIBLE! I go here thinking I would have an afternoon snack, some coffee, and enjoy a nice quiet cozy coffee shop while I got some work done. Boy was I wrong! One of the employees was chillin with some friends in the corner, then a friend of an employee comes in and I have to listen to the employee rant about how horrible her day was because they were busy (heaven forbid a business that depends on revenue be busy), THEN an employeeās kid (or kids) comes in. There were three children total, just not sure if they all belonged to her. They were off the chain!!! Climbing on the rail, spilling drink (that I cleaned up because the mom and the chic who brought them in couldnāt be bothered), dropping glass Coke bottles on the hard floor, yelling, runningā¦.. And the whole time the employees are looking at me like they just wanted me to leave. Oh Iām sorry, did I interrupt your personal time???
The employee was complaining that there was a dance competition in town that was causing them to be busy. I was there because of that dance competition. And instead of dropping my dollar at a chain, like Starbucks, I decided to support local business. The manager, or owner, of Sadieās should check the schedules of the local amphitheater, festivals, etc and prepare the associates for a heavy workday. If the associates just want to sit around, bring their kids to work, and still collect a check, they should find a new career path. Next time I will go...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA couple of weeks ago, I placed a pastry order for an event with someone at the bakery named Stephanie. We spoke about having the same name. When I arrived on the day of our event to check on the order, I was met by two young ladies, Stephanie B. (another Stephanie) and Crystal, who had no record of it. They immediately reached out to the other staff member, Stephanie I had originally spoken with, but unfortunately she claimed to have no knowledge of the order.
What could have been a disaster for our event turned into an incredible example of customer service, thanks to Stephanie B. and Crystal. Rather than shrugging it off or leaving us stranded, these two ladies took full ownership of the situation. They acted quickly, went above and beyond, and within just one hour had pulled together our entire order and ensured it was delivered in time for our event (in an hour).
I canāt say enough about their professionalism, calmness under pressure, and genuine care for their customers. Stephanie B. and Crystal turned what could have been a very stressful experience into one where I walked away grateful and impressed. They are a true credit to this Sadieās, and Iāll happily return knowing they are there.
Highly recommendāand a huge thank you again to Stephanie B....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI love this coffee shop (5 stars), though their WiFi has been a challenge in the past (a twitchy captive portal system). Comfortable, spacious, great drinks and great eats.
WIFI WARNING and a sometimes-working WORKAROUND:
Getting the complimentary WiFi connection to work can be challenging if you just let your computer do it's thing. Luckily I figured out a workaround. They use what is called a Captive Portal. You do the usual password thing, then your computer is supposed to pop open a webpage so you can enter the password again. This step works ... sometimes. Often it does not. I have complained about this, but the cafe hasn't fixed it. (Yo, Sadie's. Just turn that step off. Really.)
The workaround: Log into the WiFi, then just browse to http://192.168.1.1/ and that will trigger the login page to pop up.
But. That stops working if they time you out for the day. And then you have to jump through tech hoops to get things working (I force a MAC address changeānot for the non-techie).
So, come for the coffee and to get some wired or unwired work done. I'm so glad to see this come to Henderson. I have...
