Local Joe's in Hendersonville is an absolute gem! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and the comforting aroma of Southern home cooking. The cafeteria-style setup is such a fun, nostalgic touch, and the spread is nothing short of impressive—over 20 feet of deliciousness! I went for the meatloaf with a tangy ketchup glaze, paired with creamy garlic mashed potatoes and Southern green beans, and every bite was pure comfort. The jalapeño cornbread was a spicy little treat, and the free chocolate chip cookie at the end? A delightful surprise that sealed the deal!
What makes Local Joe's truly special is the heart behind it. You can tell Joe Perricone and his team pour love into every dish, drawing from family recipes that hit all the right spots. The variety of entrees and sides changes daily, so there’s always something new to try—I’m already eyeing the crab cakes and hashbrown casserole for my next visit! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure my drink was refilled and even chatting about the menu with genuine enthusiasm.
The atmosphere is cozy yet vibrant, perfect for a casual lunch or dinner with friends or family. It’s clear why locals are raving about this place—it’s not just a meal, it’s an experience that makes you feel right at home. Hendersonville is lucky to have Local Joe's, and I’ll definitely be back to become a regular! Highly recommend for anyone craving authentic Southern comfort...
Read moreI was in Hendersonville with a group of ladies for a retreat. We wanted to try somewhere for dinner that we don’t have at home. The first place we chose didn’t look like the place for us. We went a couple of doors down and found Local Joe’s. We are so glad we did! Joe and his staff were amazing. Joe told us he has a couple of scriptures that he uses to as a standard for his business (Hebrews 13:2 "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.”) Unfortunately, I can’t remember the other scripture. Joe also told us that he has employees with developmental disabilities that have been with him for over 10 years.
The food was great. My baby back ribs were fall of the bone tender. A couple of ladies had chicken which they said was the moistest they had ever had. Another lady said the catfish was the best she had ever had.
We don’t think it was just a coincidence that we stumbled upon Local Joe’s! Please support Local Joe’s! You will be...
Read moreHave eaten here 2x. The cafeteria line was kinda short and felt cramped when busy. Acoustic is horrible. It's too loud when packed. Can hardly have a conversation with my party. Service was friendly and excellent.
Country Fried steak: delicious and good gravy Cabbage: bland Enjoyed the AYCE catfish: filets were big, hot, and fresh Hush puppies: YUMMY! They tried to fill me up. Gave me 4 huge ones with my AYCE catfish. Scalloped potatoes: cheesy and creamy Mac and cheese: ok Green beans: canned but seasoned well Crab cakes: had to wait to bring to the table. The inside was still cold. Had it replaced...no comp. Jalapeno cornbread: almost no jalapeno pieces/flavor. Taste kinda like the regular corn bread Coleslaw: too fresh...cabbage was still super crispy Jalapeno fries corn: can see some jalapeno pieces but doesn't taste jalapeno enough Collard greens: ok
Overall, a little pricier the the other "Place" down the road. But the food is definitely fresher...had not been sitting all day...
