I had been hearing a lot of good things from people about this place so I was excited to try it. We had a reservation since there were 7 of us. Table was all set up which was nice. Waitress was very nice. Caesar salad was pretty good. My kids got the pizza and grilled cheese. One said the pizza was really good. The grilled cheese was just toasted bread with cheese slapped in the middle. Was cold and gross but it was for my toddler who will eat just about anything and ate it without protest so I overlooked it. My mother-in-law’s and her mother’s shrimp scampi was very dry and no flavor so they couldn’t eat it. My fiancé’s steak fajita was flavorless and rice was mush. I got the Daniel’s Penne. At first it was very dry and WAYYYY over seasoned with Cajun seasoning, and this is coming from someone who loves Cajun. I asked the waitress if I could get it remade with a little less seasoning on it. She had no problem with this and was nice about it. When it came back out a very long while later, there was NO Cajun seasoning on it, so this time it had no flavor at all. The sauce in general was way too runny. So by the time you even take a bite, the sauce has all run off of it. I don’t know if this was an off night or something but the only good thing about our visit was the waitress’s attitude. She was incredibly nice. Might give this place another chance down the road but...

I always take the extra step to be courteous and call a restaurant before visiting, just to be sure their hours listed are correct. Around 7pm I called to confirm they were open a man answered the phone, obviously frustrated about something, yelled at me over the phone that-No they weren't open and they can't do it anymore. - confused by what that all meant, I asked nicely if his hours were wrong on the internet and asked if he wanted them changed to the correct time and he raised his voice once again at me again over the phone asking why would I do that?! I explained that I was just passing through and was looking forward to visiting their restaurant but if they aren't open I would happily update their hours for them online. The guy calmed down a bit and said they actually close at 8 on Sundays and not 9. Then told me that while im at it updating their hours to tell everyone to help these -poor people- and find them workers. Needless to say, I've eaten in many restaurants and I've managed a restaurant for more than half my life. I'm fully aware of the desperate need to help everywhere but never have I ever talked to any potential customer over the phone this way. I have never taken my frustrations with the lack of help out on someone calling to inquire about hours. I can see why they have a hard time keeping employees if this is how this man talks...

Pretty awful and it seems from reading the reviews that my experience was not an isolated one. It seems Mr. Daniels has a bit of an "abrasive" personality. My 2 colleagues and I were 'greeted' by Mr Daniels as he rushed from behind the bar to tell us that there was no room in the bar and that we would need to wait for a table. When we pointed to the 4 empty chairs at the bar he gruffly restated that WE could not sit there. We were then escorted to a table as far away from the bar and other patrons as possible.

We ordered a pitcher of beer and nachos that took an inordinate amount of time to arrive which was fine as it seemed to be a busy night. Our waitress was nice enough, but clearly did not want us to stay and enjoy ourselves. She came by, I can only assume, to recover her pitcher which we hadnt finished after 20 minutes. She poured off the remainder into our not empty glasses and then hauled off the remainder of our nachos without asking us if we were done, which by the way we were not!

I can only remember one other occasion that I was quite so offended by a business in New Hampshire and that was at a grocery store in Lincoln where I was greeted at the door by an employee who's first words to me were "do you...

We had a very nice afternoon lunch here. Pleasant river views and very fast service from our waitress Sam. Mini crab cakes were larger than expected and came as a trio. Dave’s pasta was perfectly cooked with a nice vodka sauce. Loved the unexpected buttered knot that accompanied it. Pasta also came either choice of salad and soup. I ordered the soup du jour special of turkey and wild rice was excellent. Not too salty and very flavorful. Haddock was a little bland for the hubby. Baked potato was perfect especially since it was available for Saturday afternoon lunch. Happy to have a cloth napkin as well!

I stopped here for a late lunch just as a snowstorm was arriving. It was not crowded with a few other tables filled. The wooden decor was appropriately tavern-y and there was even a lit candle on the table. The server was prompt, but the food wasn’t quite as quick, especially considering it was during the lull between lunch and dinner. The fish and chips was great, especially the slaw. The burger and fries were a bit overcooked. The hot chocolate was delicious! The total cost for two people was $75 with tip. The menu had a wide variety of dishes on it that I would like to be able to come back to try.
