Best Donuts — Restaurant in Hermosa Beach

I moved to Hermosa Beach thirty three years ago. I was in heaven when I found Best Donuts. Kim and Henry (the previous owners) really cared about their customers and the quality of their food. I miss them.

When the new owners took over at first the were friendly and the food flavor maintained the great flavor.

Fast forward to the last few months.. I'm never going back and below are my reasons.

1. We adore Sofia (the M-F girl) she is super sweet and always greets us with a big smile.
2. The baker/s Monday - Thursday are not consistent. The flavor is dry, little to no icing on the glazed.
3. The other girls (owners) not so sweet and hardly never smiles. We (my husband and I) getting the feeling they are feel as though they are doing us a favor by waiting on us.
4. I've been trying not to eat so many sweets but I can't give up my morning sweets to I switched from getting a glazed or glazed twist to a few donut holes. Over the last few months, I've seen the amount of holes go from 5-6 for 0.50 cents to 2 holes. WOW...yes, really.
5. We go on the weekend mornings for our sweet fix (when the other owners are working) there is often no parking. At first I'd think, WOW..they must be packed in there but nooooo they take up the front store parking for themselves. I don't understand how owners of a business thinks its ok to be so inconsiderate to their customers. Last week, I witnessed an elderly lady park her car over by the grocery store and walked over (more like hobbled, she had a brace on her leg) but I guess she really wanted her donut fix too.

This review is written with a sad heart...too bad...they once had the "Best Donuts and Service".

Great, no excellent donuts but the service is not good. I’ve been here 4-5 times mostly to grab sweet treats for my staff, but this last visit was suspect and I may not return. I was not greeted, the lady behind the counter was on the phone. I had to ask her was she ready to take my selections. I asked for my donuts, and she repeated my order and got it wrong, so I repeated myself and moved over the register. I noticed that she entered my items and hit the key one extra time. I asked for my receipt and saw a random extra charge for .50 service fee. I asked her why and she pointed to a faded sign on the register that I couldn’t understand. The whole encounter was off putting because she was on the phone. I wasn’t going to write a bad review, but when I arrived to my destination, I opened the bag and the order was wrong. UPDATE 4/8/23 I started going here again. Customer service has greatly improved! The donuts are really good and they have crullers!! ❤️ I also got a cronut which was delicious. My cat was fighting me for it! 😂 Changing my review from a 1 star to a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

This place has the best crullers! Adjusting my review on 3/15/22. I went there Friday 3/11/22 at 8:30pm. They are open 24 hours a day. I walked in and no one was around out front. I wait a few minutes and call out for someone. I can hear them in the back room. I tried yelling to them for 10 minutes and they would not come out so I left.
