LOOKING FOR A LEGIT SUITE? .... JUST MOVE ON, YOU WONT FIND IT HERE. ALSO, NOT BUISINESSMAN FRIENDLY. This review is based solely on my experience and personal opinion. I stayed at the Holiday Inn & Suites Hermosa Beach for 3 consecutive weeks. I was there from the 8th of November thru the 24th of November 2021. it was my first time. ROOM: I booked a Suite, and what I was given was very different room. it had nothing of a suite, not even the size. What they call a suite is what in the rest of the world is considered a "family room. the room was old and outdated. Outdated design and outdated furniture. The A/C unit had a whole bunch of clear tape on it, ridiculous, and when on is super noisy. Bed and pillows were good. Sofa was old, outdated and uncomfortable and stinky. most of the lamps wouldn't turn on. no complementary bottles of water, not even a small one. Bathroom is Outdated and old, no furniture and the sink is super old. The Bathroom did not have enough beauty products, shampoo-body wash-conditioner were always very little. it had no beauty products for women. The room had no features or amenities of a Suite, actually nothing would remind you of a Suite in there. There was a small "food preparation" corner, small fridge and super small microwave (embarrassing small). The Room is NOT businessman friendly: the chair was broken, NO USB outlets, few Power outlets and not enough lighting in the room. The first room I was given was facing the road, and at 5am, every morning I would wake up because of the intense traffic's noise (unbelievable). Then I managed to change my room (wasn't easy as they told me it was fully booked and then talking to the cleaning ladies, I found out that the Hotel was half-way empty) and the second room they gave me was much better, noise wise, but just as old and outdated as the previous one. STAFF: apathetic, demotivated, unprofessional, NOT friendly, NOT willing to help, NOT WELCOMING, NEVER smiling, dry long faces stuff. They are all like that, they ignore you when you come in and they ignore you when you walk out. They say hi, only if you say hi first. they are all so rude. But the worst is the guy (Darby, I believe) that works at night.... he is a rude, unprofessional, useless employee (I asked him a question and he goes "don't ask these questions to me, I do work only nights and I do not know anything about reservations"). CLEANLINESS: rooms and other common areas were clean; pool and gym were very clean too. They clean your room ONLY on request and when they do, is not the best you can get. BREAKFAST ROOM: small if you consider the number of guests that the hotel can host and when you walk out of it you stink, you literally stink (you smell like sausages and eggs, very BAD for business people). They have no ventilation and they NEVER open at 6:30am Sharp. The kitchen people are neither friendly nor helpful. BREAKFAST: poor breakfast, the basic. the would often run out of fruit or meat or juice. In 3 weeks I found hard boiled eggs twice only, Oranges maybe 3 times and you WON'T find good pancakes. GYM: small considering the size of the hotel, but it has enough to take the stress off of you and help you relax. POOL: very nice pool, with a section for kids and a small Jacuzi. PARKING: ONLY one parking spot assigned per room. All the parking spots are super tight. getting into the parking lot from the road and getting out of the parking lot can be very DANGEROUS! I've almost hit twice while trying to get in. just wrong access design. BUSINESS CENTER: very small, just the basic. SECURITY: The hotel has no security; people can get in and out as they please, even complete strangers. in two occasions I had a homeless guy having breakfast next to me (the second time he even asked me a dollar). LOCATION: great location, 2 minutes walk from the Beach. Plenty of restaurants around. PRICES: expensive considering the service they offer. I paid almost $300 per night on weekends, for a phony suite CONCLUSIONS: a disappointing Holiday Inn. BAD customer experience.

I'm torn. While I can totally relate to the experiences as told by the beautiful Lisa C, I love the location of the hotel. Yes, the rooms are $160 a night, but it's much more palatable when you're company is footing the bill. I even cashed in a Hilton Honors free day to enjoy one more night on the town. The front desk staff were all male, and weren't overtly friendly, except the one who reminded me of Steve Buscemi (for one reason or another). The room did smell kind of funny when I walked in. I thought it was either urine or nicotine... so I walked around in my stocking feet, and then checked the soles of my socks for yellow marks. Passed inspection. The front desk did call about 10 minutes after I checked in, to see if I had any issues with the room. I was on the 3rd floor, and had a balcony. I could even see the ocean in the distance. More importantly, I could overlook my rental car. The parking spaces are pretty cramped. The workout facility was bare essentials, containing a treadmill, an elliptical and a bike. Adjusting the seat of the cycle machine was difficult at best. There is no pool or jacuzzi on premises, but it is less than a mile's walk to the beach. There is a Wells Fargo bank, an El Pollo Loco, a Pick Up Stix, a CVS and a VONS grocery right across PCH. There is also a Ralph's grocery just to the south. What else do you get? Free breakfast, Free WiFi in the lobby, and Free wired internet in your room.

We have always opted for Hampton Inns when possible. This one lived up to our expectations. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The breakfast was very good - three variants of coffee, fresh juices, rolls, scrambled eggs and ham, turkey sausage, waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal, oatmeal, and fresh fruit. Their little dining area is very nice. We stayed on the fourth floor, which provides a view of the ocean several blocks away. There is a sun room (outdoor patio) on that floor. It’s very noisy though, due to the traffic on PCH. Our room was nice enough, with some very nice features. And it was very clean. The shower was piping hot, just the way I like it. However, we weren’t thrilled with the pillows. They were just too soft. The AC was a bit of a pain. We just couldn’t get the room at a consistently comfortable temperature. And when it wasn’t running, the street noise was a bit of an issue. It’s a short walk from the hotel to the Pier Plaza. Keep in mind it’s a bit uphill on the way back.

We checked in to the Hampton Inn on March 11, 2023 for a two night stay. I know that every stay or experience can’t always be perfect, and I know some things are beyond the control of the management or staff. However I think there’s a problem at the Hampton Inn Hermosa Beach that might have something to do with the management. First of all they have signs all over the building that say “Making You Happy Makes Us Happy“ and “Enter the Happy Zone” however, I can honestly say I never saw one staff member smile. Not the maids, the kitchen staff, the front desk personnel, or the man I assumed was the manager. I made a point of watching for a smile the second day after seeing the signs. I never spoke to the manager. He didn’t look approachable. |I understand we couldn’t count on a specific room but why couldn’t we at least request one? We were told if we called back the morning of our reservation we could do it at that time if such a room was available. When we did so, we were told all the rooms were assigned the day before by the manager. |Now, that aside, I must mention that the top of the vending and ice machines on the third floors are disgusting! |In room 302 The doors to the toilet and clothes closet don’t open without one being adjusted out of the way.|The heater which sits right next to the bed blows cold air directly at the person sleeping next to it every time it comes on. |We didn’t get maid service. We noticed there was no “Maid Service Requested” door hanger and called the desk to report it and we were told, “Just make sure you don’t put the ‘Do Not Disturb’ hanger on the outside of the door and the maids will clean your room.”|It didn’t happen and so I was told to come down to the front desk if I wanted a washcloth and towel. |Finally, the breakfast the first morning we were there consisted of among other things what looked like over-stirred powdered imitation eggs, undercooked sausage links, and bananas that almost two weeks later might still not be ripe. |I think I’ll avoid staying at Hampton Inns in the future. I felt like it wasn’t...

Hi this is the first time I review anything, but I'm sorry I needed to. I stayed for a week and this is my fair feedback:

Downs: 1-Carpets on the third floor hallway weren't cleaned. There were a lot of carpet beetles floating. This stayed all week and was cleaned the day I checked out. This was so obvious and needed no report. 2-No pool in this location. Although many pictures on google show a pool, but there aren't any. These pictures should be removed!!! I booked this location thinking they had a pool, but I was frustrated when I found out they had none. Anyway it's my mistake I should have reviewed the hotel amenities to make sure. 3-One day I found a small red stain on the new replaced bed sheet, but it was very small. 4-Elevator needed maintenance for a whole day. 5-Fitness center needed maintenance for my whole stay only used it once!!! 6-Expensive pricing compared to the very minimal services offered. 7-Room wasn't very quiet. I heard people next room snooring and watching tv. It happened one night to be fair.

Ups: 1-Great location and safe walking area. Close to a number of restaurants, markets and cafes. 2- 12 mins walking distance to Hermosa pier. 3-Friendly and kind workers. Anthony the host was nice. 4-Good breakfast. 5-My room was clean.

Thankfully I was out most of the time or else I'd have been so frustrated. Yes the stuff are friendly and location is great, but unfortunately I won't come back again because of the many downs.

I'm so sorry I know you guys are nice, but I had to be honest...
