Deli Italiano Herndon — Restaurant in Herndon

It was a long day and I decided to treat my wife. I'd planned for us to eat out. I'd heard some good things about the new Herndon location, and she's a major pizza critic. Unfortunately the ambiance wasn't what we were looking for, so decided to do take-out.

We ordered the Rustica pizza. As it was being made, we started talking to a guy at the next table who turned out to be Yasser, the owner. What a nice man with a story. Turns out I'd met his marketing person at an event last week. He liked that and ordered an Italiano for us too.

The pizza was very well done. Crispy crust with a great olive oil. Sauce and toppings were perfectly blended and cooked with just the right amount of each. The Italiano came on a rosemary roll, with just the right amount of fillings. Not too little for the bread, and not too much to overwhelm. There were fries too. I don't often like seasoned fries, but they were pretty much perfect.

Let's hope they thrive and create the following they've had in Great Falls. I've been there several times many years ago, but didn't know the connection until tonight.

First of all, I absolutely love sandwiches. I’ve lived down the street from this location for two years now and I just discovered this place a few weeks ago, despite driving past it all the time. Took me way too long to know about something this good but I’ll make up for lost visits, have no doubt about that. I’ve ordered three times in the last two weeks and I get the Italiano sandwich every time BUT I’ve heard the pizza is badass as well. It’s looks phenomenally delicious in the window but I have yet to try myself. I’m taking the word of a friend who knows what she’s is talking about when it comes to pizza. But, I digress … I’m in love with the sandwich and when I order, I eat it for every meal until it’s gone. For me, it’s usually good for three small meals (it’s a good size sandwich) especially if you get the fries. The ciabatta and the aioli truly make this sandwich as great as it is, so I would recommend getting dressing x2 when you order. I really hope your experience rivals mine, I’m a big fan and will eventually try something new but for now,...

My husband and I ordered from here about a week or 2 ago and I had been meaning to write a review ever since.

We ordered a NY style Pizza and a Margarita Sicilian half pan with extra sauce. The NY style pizza was everyone's favorite. You could absolutely tell the pepperoni was fresh and it was delicious.

Don't get me wrong, the Scilian style Margarita Pizza was fabulous. We made a mistake by ordering extra sauce. A lot of places dont put enough sauce on their pizzas and my husband just default orders pizzas with extra sauce now out of frear the pizza will be dry and that was the furthest thing from the case.

Both pizzas were fabulous and we look forward to ordering from here again in the future!
