This is my first time eating at this restaurant. The menu has a picture of each item, thank goodness! And each item is assigned a number and has a Spanish name, but no description. The pictures, sometimes, are difficult to tell what it is. The menu is displayed above the ordering counter. I decided to order the fish, because the picture obviously showed a fish... With head & tail. The first problem I ran into is that both ladies working there... Can't speak English at all, and they can't understand English either. I had to try to pronounce the Spanish words on the menu, and thank goodness, she knew what I was saying. She then asked me what I wanted to drink ... In Spanish and thank goodness she motioned "drink" with her hand. After paying, I grabbed a table and waiting for the food. The restaurant is fairly clean considering it is like a fast food restaurant. When the food arrived, I picked it up at the counter that reminds me of a bar but no liquor. It is designed for solo dinners. The fish looked at pictured. The salad has a chunk of avocado, yummm... But the thing that looked and tasted like refried beans was all soupy with no visible sign of beans. It was still pretty good when I ate it like gravy over the rice, and the rice was delicious. I tried cutting the fried fish with the plastic knife and fork... The fish skin was so hard that maybe a steak knife would be more appropriate. I ended up eating cavewoman style... using my fingers breaking it apart. The fish was delicious!! Just fried a bit longer than needed. The two tortillas that came with the meal was thick. Unfortunately I didn't like the smell, taste or texture. The bottle of Coke I got was Made In Mexico? It wasn't as sweet as American Coke, but it was good. I might come back again. I just wish I could communicate with the employees there in English. I really shouldn't have to speak another language when I am in the US. Broken English is better...
Read moreI am a regular customer here, ordering food from here almost every Saturday. I order food for 3-4 people every time. The food itself is good but they have some of the worst customer service I’ve seen. I always get the Mexican tortas with chicken. But for some reason they stopped putting the chicken on it. They only put 3 pieces of chicken and gave me about 6 fries, smaller portion than a small fry at McDonald’s. They have done this repeatedly for the last 3 weeks, even after I explained to them what had happened before. They confirmed they would correct the issue and ensure it would be done correctly this time but upon going to inspect the food, they had done the same thing again. If they are doing this with a regular customer, I could imagine how they treat everyone else. This isn’t the first time they have made a mistake with the food, it seems every time I order there, they make a mistake. Tried giving them multiple chances but will definitely no longer be...
Read moreWhat a plesant experience! Refreshing mom and pop local fare. Simple food with a focus on seasoning and quality, all made to order. I recently had a terrible experience at a Chipotle and I have to say that the quesadilla a this place really highlights the strengths of the kitchen. Great seasoning and so much steak. It was like half steak. I am reminded of eating at a Soda walking though so many central American town small and large. My two friends enjoyed their meals, one a sampling with fried plantanos, Papusa and tamale and the other ordered a triplet of tacos asada. Everything was really delicious. I love the glass bottles for the beverages as well as the biggest thing in the room is that TV playing some games of soccer from around the world. I'll be back soon and the price was good too. Don't sleep...
