Kew Gardens — Restaurant in Herrin

Don’t let the outside scare you off! We’ve lived in Herrin for several months, and kept eyeing this place going by… it’s a little drab on the outside, for sure. However, inside awaits great food in a clean environment. Small portions were constantly being put on the Buffett. The food was quality and well made. Crab Rangoon were crispy and had tasty filling; egg rolls were a little small but were crispy with fresh and crispy veggies inside. The fried rice had real egg and veggies. Personal favorite was the peanut chicken. OHHH almost forgot the Hot and Sour Soup. It was AMAZING! For two of us with soft drinks was like 32 bucks. Great value. We were there around 630 on a Friday. If you’re local, this Buffett beats the pants off of the new Asian Taste in Marion… will definitely be a new go to spot for...

The food had been sitting out for a long time and was dried out and cold, the desserts were stale, the ice cream was freezer burnt, so my son left it on the table and the waitress put it back in the freezer for another customer to eat. Most of it did not taste good at all. The staff wasn’t very friendly at all. It was extremely dark inside the restaurant, and it was beyond filthy once we started looking around. The bathrooms were grosser than a construction site outhouse on a 100 degree day, the ceilings were disgusting, floors were filthy, tables sticky, silverware was dirty, it smelled bad in there. We all barely ate and our entire family ended up with food poisoning. We won’t be back and do not recommend. I can’t believe they’re allowed to stay open like...

I've never had to get up and leave a restaurant in my life. I went in for dinner with my family and it looked like lunch leftovers. They refused to put out fresh food. They wanted me to pay for buffet, but we were only offered a couple of items to choose from to make fresh. I thought a buffet was where you get a variety of foods. We were not the only ones to walk out on them. I don't know how they are still open, by the way they blew us all off, someone important has their backs I'm sure. NEVER AGAIN and I'm honestly turned off from all Chinese food...
