If you’re into Chipotle or Bolay-style setups, Cava might just be your new go-to for Mediterranean flavor. I built my own bowl starting with a saffron basmati rice and super greens base (though I could’ve skipped the greens—they added crunch, but not much else). For dips, I chose red pepper hummus, tzatziki, and crazy feta.
Let’s talk dips. They don’t give you much, which is a shame because the crazy feta was the star—creamy, flavorful, and honestly addictive. I’d go back just for that. The red pepper hummus was alright, nothing memorable, and the tzatziki was standard—refreshing but basic.
For protein, I picked grilled chicken which was juicy and seasoned well. I topped it off with fire-roasted corn, pickled onions, cabbage slaw, Persian cucumber, and tomato-cucumber mix. Everything tasted fresh and balanced, and the garlic dressing tied it all together like a true Mediterranean masterpiece. (Garlic sauce never fails!)
I also tried the spicy pita chips—solid crunch, nice seasoning, but definitely not spicy. More like “zesty” than “hot.”
The restaurant itself was super clean and the staff was friendly. The only downside for me? The location. It’s in Hialeah Gardens, and if you’re from Miami, you already know—Hialeah traffic and construction is not for the weak.
Still, the food was on point and I’m definitely coming back. If you’re into Mediterranean bowls and bold flavors, Cava’s worth the stop (just maybe not...

Brand new within the Hialeah Highland Shoppes is a delightful newcomer, Cava, which offers a fresh and flavorful take on Mediterranean cuisine. As a first-time visitor, I was pleasantly surprised by the concept – a customizable experience where you can build your own bowls and pitas from a vibrant array of ready-made ingredients, or opt for their thoughtfully curated menu.
My choice, the Harissa Spicy Honey Avocado pita, was an absolute standout. The combination of creamy avocado with the sweet and spicy harissa honey was simply divine – a perfect balance of textures and tastes that left me wanting more.
What's also noteworthy is the efficiency and ease of ordering. Everything is prepared and on display, allowing for quick customization to your liking. This makes Cava an ideal spot for a speedy yet satisfying lunch or dinner, whether you choose to dine in their cozy space or grab it for takeout.
Beyond the delicious food, Cava also boasts a selection of unique beverages that perfectly complement their Mediterranean fare. While the restaurant itself isn't large, it exudes a welcoming and intimate atmosphere.

Read moreI just wanted to start by saying thank you for what you’ve created. CAVA isn’t just another fast-casual restaurant, it’s an experience. The food is consistently fresh and flavorful, the staff is always welcoming, and the atmosphere radiates warmth and positivity. It’s truly my favorite “fast food,” one that manages to feel both wholesome and energizing.
As someone who lives in the Weston, Pembroke Pines, Miramar area, my only challenge is the distance. The nearest CAVA is about a 25-minute drive away, and while the trip is always worth it, I can’t help but think how amazing it would be to have a location closer to home.
Our area has grown tremendously in recent years, with a thriving mix of young professionals, families, and students who deeply value healthy, Mediterranean-inspired options. Weston and Pembroke Pines are known for their health-conscious, family-oriented, and diverse communities exactly the kind of audience that would embrace CAVA wholeheartedly. A location here would not only draw incredible attention but also fill a real gap in the market for nutritious and flavorful dining choices.
Thank you again for everything you do. CAVA has already built something special, and I’m hopeful that soon, my community will get to experience it just a little...
