Charlie's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Hialeah

Ever since this spot opened we enjoy coming here on the weekends for our favorite Coffee ice cream or the swirl cone . When it first opened I remember the girls always so nice . However for the past few weeks if I go on the weekends there’s never any popular flavors available. Just today the young lady who greeted me first thing she said was “ we arre out of the soft ice cream bc we already cleaned the machine” and when I asked why they never have coffee or cookies n cream another attendant jumped in my conversation and said “well because when it’s late we take out the container “ I was flabbergasted because if you’re running a business 1. you keep replacing the ice cream once it’s over . Was of 2. You for sure don’t greet your clients with we don’t have soft ice cream bc machine is already making it too soft. Which also seems to be a consistent issue as well. Needless to say the portions of a large have changed to a medium and when I asked why . One of the girls that has a severe case of acne and wears glasses shouted at me that they never fill the large to the top “which is also not true “ because the lid doesn’t close. When I asked her name she replied I can’t give you my name. Very unprofessional staff and I wonder do the owners know how their staff is treating their customers

09/09/22 Addendum to previous review !

So about a month ago a had a confrontation with one of the girls at this location . Whom was ver unprofessional and insisted on serving the correct amount of ice cream in a large cup. Today once again I had another encounter with another employee named Sonje or something to that effect and Dunia who wanted to be all up in conversation between her coworker and I. When I asked Dunia if she was called or asked to be in the conversation. She Rudely replied with her hand gestures no I’m just here to help her at window. While two of my five ice creams were still missing to be served lol . After giving Sonje my order of two large cup coffe ice cream and two large cups of strawberry ice cream . I asked if swirl ice cream was working . Sonje replied no the chocolate doesn’t work . Ok so I asked does the vanilla flavor work . She replied yes , I then told her ok let me have one in a come LARGE . Usually when we ask for swirl ice cream on cone we are asked small or large. Well she then charged me gave me back my change which were $5 and I told her keep the change she said thank you . Well shortly after here comes sonje brings me two large strawberry cups and one vanilla swirl in a cup. God forgive I corrected her on my order because she argued with me the whole time and The other one Dunia still ooze dropping in our conversation and talking all kinds of nasty things about me every time they’d close the window. I asked sonje to please serve me my coffe ice cream so I could leave Dunia with an attitude went to serve it and I asked her not to because I didn’t like her demeanor. Finally sonje served my two coffee ice creams . Still no vanilla ice cream on cone and yet so much attitude and anger in the way they treat customers . I’m sorry but who ever hires these girls to work there has to be family of them or something because their attitude sucks… Always upset and if you correct them on your order that’s it they’ll give you a face. So whoever wrote back on my previous review that the situation has been handled is definitely lying because it’s still a problem. The ice cream here is delicious but the girls...

We came here given my teenager came across them on IG and he really wanted to try it because he’s a diehard fan of soft serve. We made the long line for the drive-thru and ordered 3 kids cups of soft serve, a small cup and a banana split. The small one was the same size as the kids cup lol so not worth paying the difference. I had just aelected a small for my oldest kid so he had a little more but it was the same as his youngest siblings kids cup. Our banana split was a melted hot mess lol I was given an extra bag but I told my husband there was just no way of eating that without it trashing our vehicle so we signaled them to the window and told them to please remake it because it was just all melted and over pouring through the container, the lid and the paper bag.

The remake of the banana split is what is pictured on my review (I added gummy bears and asked for the 3 flavors because traditionally it comes with all vanilla) and it was plentiful. If you’re in the mood for soft serve and some creative options you should...

I used to like coming here and was starting to make it my go-to ice cream spot, but after today I don’t think I’ll be back. I drove out of my way because I wanted the mantecado flavor, which is hard to find around here at this time. I got in line around 10, thinking I had plenty of time, but after waiting about 45 minutes, two workers came up to my car. My window wasn’t rolling properly, and one of them made a rude comment like, “Is it up or down?” and then followed with, “Are you gonna listen?”—which honestly felt unnecessary.

He then asked if we’d been there before 11, even though it was still like 10:58 and we’d already been waiting a while. They said since it was “almost 11,” they could only offer soft serve, which I didn’t want. The whole reason I came was for the uncommon mantecado flavor that I can’t really get anywhere else at this time. At that point I just left, disappointed, and don’t think...
