It is common that when a customer wants the celebration of a special occasion to be spectacular, they order something special, like the La Caja China Roaster Box, to help create family memories of roasting a 75lbs+ pig together. I had families and friends flew in from four different states in order to attend my husband's surprise birthday party on the 28th. I order the box 2.5+ weeks in advance (with its website stating can be shipped within 7-11 days) and specifically told them that I try to support small businesses instead of corporate box stores like Amazon, and that I must have the box delivered 3 days before the party or by the 25th, so that I could have the time to first assemble the box, then hide the whole pig in the box and inject with the Cuban marinade while keeping the pig iced for the 48 hour marinade for two days before the party on the 28th. When I realized that there was no date for its arrival the week of the "surprise party," one can imagine the stress that ensued as many mouths (like 70+ ppl) were relying on a punctual delivery. Being in CA, I set my alarm clock for 3 straight days to wake up at 6 AM, so that I could catch any responsible person at this company to tell me the "truth" on the delivery date. Instead, they blame the lack of a delivery date on Fed Ex saying they had nothing to do with their delivery schedule!?!!?? Even though they well-knew in advance by my diligence in informing them about the event date at the time of placing the order. Due to the lack of any real support or delayed response in providing any helpful information, I ended up having to scramble one day before the party by taking hours away from my out-of-town families and friends and having to make many calls until I was able to----- incredibly, even find someone who'd have roasted a large pig before, and paid him $325 to roast the pig on a spit fire, without the roasting box, in addition to the $500.00 roasting box that I had paid for which Arrived AFTER the Celebration-event. I would like the company to own up and acknowledge the additional loss of time, the stress and the costs it had "Casually" caused its customer to bear. Afterall, it allowed the shipping to be delayed and no one bothered to follow through with the transparent directions provided so that it got shipped in time to Fed Ex for Fed Ex to deliver it on-time. Please refund 50% of the box which has not been opened yet because I doubt I will have the time and energy to roast another pig anytime soon~ like in a couple of years because this was to be the One BIG Memorable Celebration of a lifetime.
