I used to buy at this place when I was living in Hialeah. Today we were close there and wanted to order a whole chicken with potatoes. We went inside and the big menu on the wall said: The whole chicken........ $10.75 3 potatoes order (2 pot.) $ 1.20.......................... 3.60 Subtotal...............................................................$14.35 taxes 7% ..............................................................$ 1.00 TOTAL..................................................................$15.35 That was what I ordered. When I received my bill it showed this.........
pollo.....................................$10.75 aji......................................... 1.00 papa unidad (4@0.70).......... 4.20 Subtotal................................. 15.95 total taxes.............................. 1.12 Grand total............................. 17.07 When I asked to the cashier what was a charge of $1.00 for "aji", she said that it comes with the chicken. But what are you charging me for that, I don't want it. The potatoes portion each one has 2 of it, $1.20 x 3 = $3.60. She said is because each portion has 2 and the total are 6 and each one is $0.70. And also it has the taxes included. There was a charge for 1.12 for taxes too. At the end they returned me $1.35 still owning me $.37. I recommend you to check yours bills before leaving the restaurant. We won't...
Read moreIf you're in the mood for some of the best roast chicken in town, look no further than Pollo Riko, a Colombian joint that truly lives up to its name. We ordered La Famosa, a generous dish that features a whole chicken, arepas, aborrajados, plátano dulce, yuca, and potatoes. This meal easily satisfies a group of five, with each bite offering a burst of fresh and authentic Colombian flavors.
The chicken was perfectly roasted—tender, juicy, and seasoned to perfection. The sides were equally impressive: the arepas were soft yet crispy, the aborrajados (fried plantains stuffed with cheese) were a delightful combination of sweet and savory, and the yuca and potatoes added just the right amount of heartiness to the meal. The plátano dulce provided a sweet contrast to the savory flavors, rounding out the dish beautifully.
The service at Pollo Riko was top-notch. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable dining experience. And don't miss out on their ají—it’s hands down the best in town and adds the perfect kick to every bite.
Whether you're a fan of Colombian cuisine or just love good roast chicken, Pollo Riko is a must-visit. Highly...
Read moreThis place has been in this location for as long a I can remember. I’m 32 and I used to eat there with my mom when I was a little girl , my mom is Colombian. The chicken tasted like kokoriko from colombia. But now it has been bought by someone else, and they’ve changed the way they season the food and cook the chicken. I’m so disappointed- I went back there and not only was it all so expensive, it wasn’t worth it. I’m a foodie, I always go to the best places. , there aren’t even Colombians who work in there. The rice does not taste good. Before it used to be like Jasmine type of rice, delicious. For anyone that has been here before with the original owner, let me know if there’s a place I can find authentic kokoriko style chicken please 🙏🏼- I’m just being honest, the people were really nice but I can’t give a review on a food that supposedly tastes good just because the people are nice. That would be lying and steering people wrongly by giving a false review. This place has a potential to be the best again if they keep using the original method to season and cook the chicken. Just because there’s a new owner, don’t mess with the ingredients ! I hope this place goes back to...
