Overall a nice place.
I've passed this place a ton of times throughout my life and never tried it. Primarily because I never heard anyone rave about it. Growing up all I ever heard about was Mama Lucy's. I didn't get the ribs or any type of BBQ but based on the looks I highly doubt it's better than Mama Lucy's.
Anywho, I came here and got shrimp and fries. Second weekend in a row and I wanted seafood! I could not decide for the life of me where I wanted to get seafood from. I just happen to passing this restaurant and decided to check the reviews on Yelp.
When I walked in, everyone was really nice and greeted me; customers included. You have the option of selecting your seafood "fresh" and having it cooked or you can just order from the menu. I personally wouldn't go in and select seafood from the display and have it cooked because they charge way too much. I saw someone come in and order shrimp and it was frozen solid which meant it costed more. The Hispanics a little more south don't that. It be your own kind I tell ya.
I also got a buttercream cake. Not sure what I was expecting but it was good. I was really hoping for the pineapple coconut cake though and they were all out. For the drink, I got what they call "the suicide". It's basically a mixture of all of the punch flavors; grape, lemonade, tea and fruit punch. It was actually pretty good. Diabetes in a cup of course. Super sweet.
The 3 stars is for the fact that my food sat on a counter for about 5 minutes before anyone realized it was there. I asked for my food to be fried hard and because it sat there for some time it wasn't as hard anymore. Condensation had already began to form. I didn't want to give it back though because some people do some crazy things to your food. So I took it home and worked a miracle and it was fine.
The cashier who helped was really nice and was very patient with me as I selected what cake I wanted. She really did need some help up there as the men/man who was supposed to be tenderizing the conch and working the cooler display in general, kept disappearing and taking their time. She was taking orders, bagging food, fixing drinks, weighing seafood and the such while everyone else was walking around and taking their sweet time.
Hopefully the next time, I come the service is a...
Read moreStop what you’re doing and RUN to World Famous Rib Shack!!! The photos don’t just speak—they shout pure culinary perfection! Let me tell you, these turkey wings weren’t just seasoned; they were kissed by the spice gods. The mac and cheese? Oh, it’s a gooey, golden dream that melts in your mouth, while the collards are so savory and tender they might just bring a tear to your eye.
The food? Unbelievably fresh, steaming hot, and bursting with flavor. The service? Lightning-fast and served with a smile that makes you feel like family. The atmosphere? Warm, inviting, and brimming with soul.
This isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered. Don’t miss your chance to experience the magic. Auntie Pam will...
Read moreThe food is just an average okay. No "Wow" in it at all. The collard greens & cabbage receipe need some major improvements. The Oxtails & gravy needs to be made from scratch. Taste like they're cooking it in some type of brown powder gray mix. That's a no-no. Now the Mac n Cheese, bake beans, potatoes salad is good. String beans is a NO! Yellow rice is just plain jane. Fried shrimp is good & flavorful. The cakes are not moist at all. Pass me some water please. Seems like the cooks are just comfortable to have a job because most of the food is just a basic boring/ ok. Oh and the ribs use to be really good but now it's just (shoulder shrug-ok). I still patronize here because it's close to the house but...
