The food and service is really good here, the workers are exceptionally nice and willing to talk and explain ingrediants and other things about their food. The kitchen and serving bar are kept clean and they always get you through the line very fast. The two issues I have with this chipotle, is the cleanliness of the dining area and the cashiers. Ive attached two pictures, and this is regularly how the dining area is. Trash and food littered everywhere, and tables are often smeared and covered in the previous customer's food. I understand most of the mess is the fault of the customers themselves, not the staff, but Ive never once seen a staff member attempt to clean the dining area and it is constantly in this state. And with the cashiers, i almost never get the same price on my receit even though my husband and I order the same thing. Sometimes our bowls will cost around 5 dollars because we dont put anything really other than beans chicken and rice. Other times it costs the full 8.10. Sometimes I get charged for my queso, and sometimes its marked as guac which is like a dollar and 20 cents more exspensive. We always ask for One Small Soda aswell, and sometimes wr get charged for a large. Its not a one time thing either, this is consistant everytime we come. Read moreI have eaten at the Hickory store many times in the past and have noticed a growing decline in how clean the dining area has become. Two years ago i had no difficulty in finding a clean place to sit and eat and now it is a challenge... i wonder about the kitchen... On 2/26/2022 at about 3:30 PM I could not find a single clean table. Not exactly a common time for a rush and only saw 2 couples dining in so there were plenty of vacant seats suggesting there had been plenty of time to prep and clean, but not a single clean table. I looked around and saw two employees standing with nothing to do apparently but the dining area from the table tops to the floors were nasty. If i were the owner of this store i would dress down, pop in some afternoon and order a meal and dine in. I would also be upset about the money spent in recent upgrades to find my business in the condition this one is in. You cant blame it on covid like every other business tries to do... covid does not make sloven, uncaring and lazy employees. But like all good things - your time in college, my 2nd marriage, that really awesome trip to Europe, and waking up everyday not on the edge of throwing yourself into the abyss - this too will end.
