Sub Station II — Restaurant in Hickory

I wasn’t able to order online for some reason, and when I called to place a to go order, no one answered, so I decided to drive by and see if they were open. Upon arrival, they weren’t very busy so I ordered 2 salads and a sub TO GO. they never asked me what I wanted on my salad even though the lady at the register said I need to give them all the details. I had to ask if they could put banana peppers on one, and no tomatoes on both. I didn’t verify the orders bc they had already bagged them without ONE question to me about what I wanted on them. I have never been treated so rude in my life!!! I usually never write a review but this establishment really made me angry. They never asked me what kind of cheese I wanted and put provolone on a streak and cheese sandwich. I had a book bag with me and I guess they assumed I was homeless and followed me into the bathroom. There was barely any steak on the steak and cheese and charged me $7.60 for a half of a sub, chips, and a fountain drink. The food was horrible it made me sick to my stomach!!! When I was leaving they all just stared at me and not once did they say "come again" or even "bye have a nice day" I am a yankee in the south here and we have more manners up north. Sub Station II is hands-down my go-to spot for subs. Their sandwiches are way bigger and far more flavorful than anything you’ll find at Subway or Jimmy John’s. The value is incredible—you get way more food for your money without sacrificing quality.

My personal favorite is the Italian #13. It’s loaded with perfectly sliced meats, fresh veggies, and just the right amount of dressing—all stacked high on soft, fresh bread. Every bite is packed with flavor, and it always hits the spot.
