Big Lots — Local services in Hickory

The statesville location is always clean, well organized, friendly staff, and i cant say enough about their great seasonal items and furniture sections. Super great prices on food items that are world market type food items. The furniture section and home section offer Broyhill designs that are amazing....My favorite were the very well picked broyhill candles and decor that were very summery type to match living room, bathroom, and kitchen areas of homes in very elegant and affordable styles. The world market type foods offered, various fruit n nut mixes, soups, dried food sections, various types of cookies, cakes and such from around the world, they had great sale on huge family type bags of chips. I loved the teeshirt sale that had great trendy themed tees for men and women on sale for 6 bucks that were normally 8 bucks. I got one that said " im having a great day, dont ruin it" but they had stranger things, marlyn monroe, baby yoda, and various other themed shirts on sale, and they have this summer picnic display and items that was amazing and great prices on those items as you walk in the door on the left....go...

Big Lots is a nice general retail store. It does have a wide variety of merchandise. The only drawback is only one or two brands for the same item. There were some less expensive items that might have three brands to pick from, mostly grocery item.

My last visited was on a Sunday and Big Lots was the only store open until 8 p.m. in the entire mall area. But I felt entirely safe because there was a private security guard there and visible until the store closed.

The staff was wonderful & polite It only took a few minutes for a staff member to ask if I needed help. When I said yes he helped me find every item on my list then walked me up to the front register and offered to take my purchases to my car.

Big lots is always a treasure hunt due to the fact that inventory shifts and changes. Some days you get lucky other days not so much. This was actually my first visit to this location, sales staff was not as friendly as in other locations, layout was a bit confusing and inventory is nicer in other big lot stores. I will give them one more try in hopes that I hit an off day.

I took away a ⭐ today. I ordered two lawn ornaments because they were not available in the local store. When they arrived via FedEx the box was battered and the ornaments themselves were in many pieces due to being put in an oversized box with NO packing to cushion them.
