Wow! I’m a Flint boy, born and raised in the Vehicle City. I’ve had coney island hot dogs in many of the Flint coney joints, though mostly Angelo’s on Davison Road at Franklin, so I believe I can speak with some authority when I say that Rosco’s Flint-style coney island dogs are the REAL DEAL. They make their own coney sauce, a little spicier (in a good way) than Angelo’s and what you can get at Abbot’s in Flint. Koegel's Viennas, a steamed bun, and minced onions complete the package. I can’t speak to their Detroit-style dogs (why bother, really) or their Chicago style dogs (I’ll leave that to the “windys”), but what I had today at Rosco’s was the absolute best I’ve eaten since Angelo’s closed those years ago—RIP. The service was great—fast and friendly. (Thanks, Mackenzie.) If you’re a Flintstone heading up 75 toward the bridge and jonesing for a coney dog to take you back in time, don’t pass up a quick stop in Roscommon. You will NOT be...
Read moreI would love to bring myself to leave a more positive review, but my experience there was of concern. I ordered a smash burger and the bottom bun was riddled with black mold. Whoever spoke to me told me with confidence that it was not black mold, which is funny as I work for a mold remediation company. I kindly requested a new bun, which they gave me but this is where my concern comes into play. The individual I spoke with lied straight to my face. He said "I just sent a picture of this to my supplier and they said it's not black mold." The funny thing is, is that nobody from Rosco's took a photo of any of my food, and it sat right in front of me the entire time until I tossed it in the trash. So no that text did not happen to any supplier. There is no need to lie to make yourself sound good. Be honest, have integrity, and make sure you are using quality and safe ingredients in all...
Read moreUsually have a great experience here with my family, even tipping the cook $20 alone when it’s busy. She kicks butt by the way! However today was different. We sat with the kids and asked for a few more minutes to give our order, since breakfast was over and we had to choose lunch instead. We knew what we all wanted before noon, finally we left cash for drinks and ended up just leaving by 12:16 since our server never came back, and seemed busy on her phone. Our kids were crying when leaving because they were hungry, but we weren’t able to ever get an order in. There was one other table there at the time by the way. Cooks are great but service is slacking to say the least. I’d love to give my business/money if they would take it. We look forward to going here every trip up, this...
