Little Roadside Grill — Restaurant in High Point

I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant. I had a craving for baked Mac n cheese and bbq.. I didn’t want the taste of City Barbecue, also we ordered here. Bad idea. If this were the actual representation “NC Barbecue” no one would eat here. This was a very disappointing meal. For everyone in the reviews that said this was good, your taste buds may need a checking on.

Wow. The barbecue smelled bad. It couldn’t be doctored with hot sauce, bbq sauce, ketchup, nothing. The smell was tragic. We couldn’t eat it. We did try.

The baked beans were hopeful upon the first whiff as we opened the containers…and boy, they were just too sweet for us.

The hush puppies were very good. Fried fresh and had that taste that could’ve paired well with the bbq had it also been good.

And the pale-colored cheese water-flavored “baked”macaroni and cheese. All I could say was “Eww.” I feel like a 5 year old but I couldn’t believe they’d send this out and had the audacity to charge for it. But it was dripping like a faucet. It was NOT creamy, it was water. (Check video)

My daughter liked the burger and fries. I’m jealous that I didn’t settle for just trying that. I’m still hungry!

We just wouldn’t eat here again. If it were a one-off, we will ll never know, this was not worth the $70 we spent...

I’ve eaten at the LRG twice now, and both times it was quite good. The first time was with a group, and there were a few hiccups. Still the food and the service were good. The second time I just went in myself and got a barbecue sandwich. It was really good. The barbecue and slaw are very much like Kepley’s in the old days, I would have liked more slaw though.We waited for macaroni and cheese the first time, and it was just ok. The hush puppies and onion rings are excellent, the baked beans are OK. I don’t really understand why they have a salad bar and an ice cream freezer taking up so much of their space. I don’t think people come to an BBQ/grill expecting a salad bar, and it seems like the ice cream could be kept in the back so they would have more seating and walking around space. I’m glad they are here, and I will be back.

Update: I ordered a hot dog, and they're excellent. They are as close to a hot dog as you would make it home as...

Wow! 🤩 I am so pleased that Kepley’s lives AND this is restaurant is EVEN BETTER! YUMMY BBQ - Texas or NC style. NC style taste like the old Kepley’s restaurant… Yummy! BBQ slaw or Cole slaw available. Small crinkle cut French Fries were crispy and cooked perfectly! Cheeseburger was hot, thick, juicy, seasoned well with crisp toppings! BEST BURGER IN THE PEIDMONT! Love that they have Coke and Diet Coke products! I can’t wait to try again and try different items. Absolutely delicious!😋 Fast, friendly waiter that was attentive to our needs! He made suggestions and checked to make sure that we were satisfied.

Definitely will spread the word about the great quality food, fast service and reasonable...
