Read the negative reviews before u come here. HUGE consistency with the bad things everyone is saying: Bad food & bad service. This is my experience.... Mike doesnt listen to customers. He dismissed my claim before even listening to me. So The ingredients I claim were spoiled are the Eel and the Seaweed. These are two ingredients FDA laws Require to be kept refrigerated below a certain temperature. This restaurant has a Sanitation score of 96 BUT it's amazing at what places can get away with and still have a high score. Inspections for restaurants are posted online free for the public to view. The NC department of health has found Shinko has had multiple "critical safety violations" for 5 years in a row now. Including improperly holding and storing cold and hot ingredients. This means if theyre ingredients are more likely to be spoiled or close to rotting due to improper storage. Check their inspection report if u dont believe me. & Check ur ingredients b4 u eat ANYTHING. If something tastes funny something;s wrong. I am assuming mine was not held below proper temperature and eventually spoiled. I talked with the manager over the phone, Mike. No matter how hard i tried to reason with Mike, he still defended that the food had been good; he literally just brushed off my concerns and my claims. When I respectfully asked him to talk with the chef who prepared the food to find out more, Mike immediately denied my request and said I was accusing them. I was not accusing- only trying to find out the truth as they should have been trying to do as well. Instead Mike said he knew the employees there and working there 5 years he trusts them. So here he is accusing me, a customer for lying. Sorry for my language (im a respectable business owner) but why in Lord's name would I be taking the time to write such a long review..AND do the research into your restaurant to know all about your continuous safety violations? All because you wouldnt refund me $13? Of course not. This restaurant does not put their trust in the customer's claims/feedbacks. They will repeatedly offer to remake ur food even if you found it spoiled, a hair, or bug in it, they will not issue refunds. I do not want my food made again. Nor will I come here again. I rather not spend $13 for spoiled food and to have a stressful time with your "trusting" employees. As an upset customer, I definitely expected better from a manager. Even an "im sorry; I will investigate with the chefs" would have been an attempt at good service. But Mike just kept denying all my claims. Im really disappointed and quite disgusted after this experience. Japanese food and sushi is a favorite of mine but I wont be eating it for awhile after this. As Ive stated, the facts are on the government inspection websites. This should already be red alert to stay away. The eel on my sushi was wet, super slimy and falling apart in my roll - in other words was probably SPOILED. After chewing it I knew something was wrong so I stopped eating it. Checked out the other rolls and they were the same. Slimy, wet... Not to mention there as barely any rice on the roll. Tasting the seaweed salad's fermentating liquids gave me hard gag reflex (this should never be the case for seaweed salad). Im not exaggerating, I legit almost vommited.. Unspoiled seaweed salad is suppose to have a lightly crisp and crunchy texture when you bite into them. Look it up or ask any knowledgeable chef and they will agree. Mine was chewy, so imagine that. Also I picked up about 40 minutes after the food was made. I wasnt expecting the food to be piping fresh, just edible!! Mike tried to reason by saying i picked up the food an hour late so it was no longer fresh, which is laughable... Bento boxes are meant to be eaten cold or saved to eat for later, ANY japanese foodie knows that. Plus decently fresh ingredients shouldNT go bad within an 1 hour (This is just plain laughable) shame on them. Kevin W i this is the owner from an article i read, here's hoping he sees this before things get...
Read moreLast 2 visits have been terrible, i got chicken that was nearly inedible my last visit due to it being so chewy with hard parts, my coworker ordered the exact same thing so it was very clear difference.
So today i figured id give it another shot before totally making the decision of not coming back to Shinko’s, as im a long time customer.
I ordered 2 orders of orange chicken and white rice, For some reason they made one of them fried rice (the receipt said white, i had also made it very clear over the phone), so i went back in to get regular rice and they give me ANOTHER fried rice, also had none of the prepared duck sauce i was given a half full cup of duck sauce that looked off when i went in the 2nd time because the worker put 2 more WHITE sauces instead.
this is most likely due to the new staff they have but it sucks that shinkos has become unreliable, im paying for the food can i atleast get what i requested? Over here paying for Shinko mystery box.
And i dont want to bash shinkos but i tried giving them another shot and they did WORSE than last time. I couldnt even go back in the THIRD time because i was on break, waste of money.
Customer service is not bad though very respectful employees with good work ethic just not trained well enough , more of a management fault. I will also note that there was a bit of a busy day for the employees, but still it makes me not wanna go as its like a 50/50 that ill get a...
Read moreThat was the most insane experience I’ve ever experienced in my life. We get in at 9:30 this Friday evening and they’re mopping. I mean full blown mopping the entire restaurant, a wet floor sign here and there. We get to the host stand and the young man is laughing and giggling, so I ask what’s funny and he says that “he’s giving us to a server that’s been getting on his nerves so he’s gonna be here all night.” We then proceeded to the table, slipping while walking btw. The server was nice, but we had to go to the bathroom so we did. Walking across the entire restaurant slipping and falling. We get into the bathroom and the lady is mopping in there as well! Mopping over trash at that. We then do our thing and as we’re washing our hands Mrs. Mop is standing there staring at us through the mirror. As we’re trying to leave another host is just in the door way talking and not even attempting to move. We then get through the door and as we’re walking we slip and fall… of course. We look up and Mrs. Mop #2 is still mopping looking at us as if we’re interrupting her. 😂 We go to the front asking if they’re closing because at this point, what’s tea?? And the first host says they’re trying to make people leave that’s why they start cleaning early. We just left, now I’m writing this review mad because I wanted my sushi delivered by a damn bus. -0/10. Can’t...
