Pupillo's Wicked Chicken Cafe — Restaurant in High Ridge Township

This is my second time dining at The Wicked Chicken. The first time I was less than impressed but gave them the benefit of the doubt as it was soon after they had opened. Unfortunately today was also not a great experience. I had joined the waitlist when we were 15 minutes away and it stated that there would be a 10-20 minute wait. When I arrived it seemed as though the hostess did not know what the “waitlist” was and asked if I had called. I told her that I had not and she took our name and we were seated about 20 minutes after we had arrived. The restaurant was very busy so this was not a big deal to us as we understand how stressful running a restaurant can be. Our server came to the table around 10 minutes after we were seated to take our order for drinks and our meals and apologized for the wait. My husband ordered the fish sandwich with tartar sauce on the side. When our food came out (after about 30 minutes) there was no tartar sauce; when he asked for it the server stated that they were out of it. My husband was bummed because he would have ordered something different had he known that. My breakfast skillet was good, nothing extraordinary, and my mom felt the same about her basic breakfast. I think the issue is that they also have a banquet facility next door. The staff was seen bringing out catering sized dishes through the front doors down to the banquet room. Perhaps they have bitten off more than they can chew. I’m not sure if they are short staffed, do not train their employees well enough, or what the situation is. We will likely not return as we feel that the time we spent waiting was not worth the quality of the food and the...

Not a great first experience. We were excited to have a unique restaurant come to town.

I ordered two meals for dinner, pickup. One was a monthly special. I got there to pick it up and they only had one dinner ready for me. When I asked about the other, the monthly special, they said it is no longer available.... I let them know that while that may be the case, I did in fact order it and pay for it. They were a little surprised.

They offered to make something else of the same value. While I waited, while my other food was now getting cold. I had no choice, and ordered a chicken dinner plate with two sides. I sat and waited, they did their best to make it quickly, but it still took 10 minutes. They offered nothing else for the inconvenience, such as an appetizer or a dessert.

To top it all off, I got home and one of the two sides was missing. So they didn't even get the reply meal correct... I didn't bother to call and let them know, I'm not going to drive 10 minutes down the road for some corn. And I'm sure they won't offer anything to make it right either.

I definitely won't order take out again. I'm not opposed to dining in. The food was good, no complaints there.

Customer service does not appear to be at the top of their list. Look at the other 1 and 2...

2nd time coming here. First time was no better. I wanna say it was Benedict. French toast and chicken this time. Chicken wasn’t cooked all the way and tasted undone and it was hard to cut through. French toast looked delicious until you take a bite. It wasn’t dipped in the egg mixture enough to barely wet it. So it was flavorless and like trying to each a big piece of bread with syrup. I had told the waitress about my first time and she said did you let us know we could have tried to fix it. I did not. After serving us our food and getting our condiments she never came back to ask us how our food was. (She did walk right past us several times though) right at the beginning we did ask for toast instead of the biscuits my husband got because it was dry and hard. When she look at my plate and we was ready to pay she ask if I wanted a go box I curled my nose and said no and that’s when she found out it wasn’t good. She then said I’ll take it off and I wish you would have said something. I told her I’ll pay for it. At the beginning of the meal I told her my first experience with the food was not good, so why wouldn’t she ask me how the food is, she didn’t. I’m not sure how there’s all these great comments on food when both times mine wasn’t good. Oh...
