BWB Shakes — Restaurant in Highland Park

I recently had the pleasure of dining at BWShakes restaurant in Highland Park, IL, (near Ravinia) and I must say it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. This establishment truly exceeded my expectations in terms of both service and food quality.

One of the standout features of BWShakes is the incredibly friendly and attentive staff. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff members were not only knowledgeable about the menu, but also eager to provide recommendations based on my preferences. Their passion for ensuring that every guest has a memorable experience is truly evident and greatly appreciated. On one visit, the cashier came out with whipped cream for my dog while we waited for our order.

As someone who enjoys their food immensely, I have to say that this philosophy truly shines in my favorite item on their menu, the smash burger. We are from NW Indiana and were in the area and hungry so we tried this spot. The carne asada fries are literally to DIE for and the pulled pork sandwich was awesome. We ordered online and when we got there they were closing. They had run out of the cole slaw that normally goes on the pork sandwiches so he gave us drinks for free. He recommended the tacos next time and we were on our way. We came out again a month or so later JUST for the food. This time the experience was odd...we didn't see the tacos online so we figured we'd just order when we got there. There was something going on (police presence) so they told us we had to order our food in the bar. Way different customer service experience. (almost seemed annoyed we were there to order just food and not sit at the bar) I ordered the taco dinner and assumed a DINNER meant I'd get rice and beans. Nope. Just 3 tacos. $15. Noted to self that I'd just get the carne asada fries next time...if there could be a next time! They have been out of the carne asada fries (and a bunch of other menu items for that matter) according to their online menu for a long time. Everytime we try to call (because its over an hour long drive for us) to confirm, no one answers. Oh well. Guess it was good while it...

I’ve ordered at least 15 times from here. Every burger takes 25-30+ minutes, and I order in the middle of the day on weekdays. When I show up, the place is empty and I still have to wait. This time, they claimed to have no record of my order which I placed on their own website. Their POS machine seems to “always be broken.” When I arrived, a man behind the counter stared blankly and me and just shrugged. I even showed him my receipt, and he just stood there. I lost $13 but they’ve lost a repeat customer.

Response: My name is accurate on this google account. Process a refund please and then I can at least know you’re doing the right thing. Check #6 for Ari Sonnenberg on Jan 4 per the confirmation email from your website’s order page. When I was in person with the gentleman, I didn’t think I was going to be getting a refund. I really appreciate that. Thank you. Let me know if you need anything else. It was just $13.
