Upon entering the restaurant the vibe and atmosphere is great. Then you open the menu and see the prices and you’re like ok, it must be THE BEST Mexican food I’m ever going to eat because of how expensive it is. So we order the queso….Gas station nacho cheese is comparable, possibly better.

And then the kicker as to why most of American are working paycheck to paycheck and the 1% is swimming in our struggles. You order tacos… it comes with choice of meat and the tortillas EVERYTHING additional is EXTRA!! Yes even onion and cilantro!! So now a plate of tacos cost you $20+ and it tastes like it came straight out of a Sysco box straight on your plate. The kind staff are Latin but I guarantee you the owner is not. If you’re looking for quality, authentic Mexican food this is NOT the place go.

I went to this restaurant with a group. The food was OK, and everything else being equal, I would have given the restaurant three stars.

The service was below average, however. Before dinner, several people at my table decided to split a large order of guacamole. I did not want to do that, so I asked the server for a side of guacamole, something that was explicitly listed on the menu. The server, rather rudely, told me I could not do that because others at my table had asked for a full order.

I tried unsuccessfully to explain that I was not part of that full order, but didn't get anywhere.

About 40 minutes later, the owner came by, and made a general apology to the table for the server's rudeness. By that time I was finished with my meal, and the apology did not really do much to lessen the discomfort I had felt for most of the meal after the...

Hot Tamales is the best Mexican Joint in HP! Tamales has been my family’s go-to spot for authentic Mexican food for the past 25 years, and it just keeps getting better. The food is always served hot and absolutely delicious—these are hands down the best tamales we’ve ever had!
