I recently discovered *Once Upon A Bagel*, and it turned out to be so much more than I expected. While working on a project, a friend brought over some food that looked incredible, and when I found out it was from this spot, I had to check it out. What I thought was just a simple bagel shop turned out to be a hidden gem, offering an array of classic foods you don’t find much anymore. The bakery was outstanding, the deli impressive, and the hot food section full of delicious options. I decided to try the matzoh ball soup, and I have to say, it was the best I’ve ever had. Having tried legendary spots like Wolfie's in Miami and Rascals, I can confidently say this soup topped them all. If you’re craving great breakfast, lunch, or some nostalgic classics, I highly recommend stopping by *Once Upon A Bagel*. The place is extremely clean, well-staffed, and serves high-quality food. I can’t wait to go back!

This place is pretty neat! Plenty of public parking all around, no charge. Busy joint, and a little cramped, even at opening time on a Saturday. Bagels are great. Pretzel bagel can be salted or unsalted. Obviously enough, the salted option is very salty! Tasty nonetheless. Pumpernickel is delicious! I preferred the chive and onion cream cheese spread over the lox spread. The French roast coffee was very good! You also are given an option for styrofoam cup or glass mug with endless refills. Much preferred to the house blend. Poached eggs cooked to perfection. Neat joint and vast menu. I'd definitely return.

Upper Crust Bagel was closed so I decided to go Once Upon A Bagel and as usual they are only consistent with giving poor service. I order 3 breakfast sandwiches and the cheese is not even melted and the salami is not grilled. I called back and the lady who answered the phone was super rude and hung up on me - the manager was no better. This is the 3rd time I have experienced POOR SERVICE and HORRIBLE FOOD. Next time Upper Crust Bagel is closed, I rather go to Jewel and make my own breakfast sandwich.

Once Upon a Bagel is an absolute gem of a restaurant! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with warm and friendly smiles from the staff. They truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and valued as a customer. It's refreshing to visit a place where the staff takes the time to remember regular customers' names and make you feel like part of their extended family.

At Once Upon a Bagel, the bagels are made fresh daily with all the usual suspects, adding seasonal faves and even celebratory items for Graduation season, HS football wins etc. The variety of cream cheese flavors is simply astounding! In addition to the classic options like chive and lox, they take it a step further by offering a wide range of unique and delicious flavors. It's a cream cheese lover's paradise!

One standout flavor that I absolutely adore is their sun-dried tomato cream cheese. The tangy sweetness of the sun-dried tomatoes adds a burst of flavor that perfectly complements the creamy base. It's a match made in heaven! Another delightful option is their strawberry cream cheese. The natural sweetness of the strawberries creates a delightful contrast against the savory bagel, resulting in a taste sensation you won't forget.

But my personal favorite has to be their jalapeño cream cheese. It's a flavor that brings a delightful kick to every bite. The subtle heat of the jalapeños adds a zesty and spicy element that elevates the bagel experience to a whole new level. It's perfect for those who enjoy a bit of heat and crave a bold and flavorful cream cheese option.

Once Upon a Bagel truly goes above and beyond when it comes to their cream cheese offerings. Whether you're a fan of the traditional flavors or eager to try something new and adventurous, they have you covered. The variety and quality of their cream cheese flavors are unmatched, making each visit an opportunity to explore exciting taste combinations. So don't hesitate to dive into the world of Once Upon a Bagel's cream cheese selection – you might just discover your new favorite flavor!

Once Upon a Bagel is more than just a bagel joint; it's an experience. The staff's friendliness, the exceptional quality of their bagels, and the attention to detail make it a place worth visiting again and again. Whether you're a bagel enthusiast or simply looking for a delightful breakfast or lunch spot, Once Upon a Bagel is the place to go. Trust me, you won't be...

While I will agree that the quality of food and the pricing is good, the service is slow and they are extremely disorganized. I wanted to place an order for food for the kiddish after my son's bar mitzvah. I called 6 weeks in advance and they asked me to call back closet to the date and after the High Holidays. I did, so and was asked if they could call me back since I called during the lunch hour. My first clue that I should have ordered from so. Place else was when I did not receive a call back after 4 days. Knowing the food I good, I decided to call back. I ordered a large mini bagel tray with an extra three dozen bagels, sliced onions and a pound of olives. I had a nice conversation with the English speaking man I placed the order with. I went in today the day before the bar mitzvah, to get my order and they didn't have it. I live an hour away from the restaurant and had already been to two other places to pick up othetitems. I asked to speak with the owner and tried to explain what the problem was. The clerk said they could make it up then, to which I loudly said that I didn't't have time to wait. It was at that point that I was told to leave the restaurant. I now have no savory food for the kiddish and no options for getting anything else in time. I have ordered from OUAB often for catering an go in quite often for delivery food, however, I will NEVER go to OUAB. I cannot tell you how upset I am. What was supposed to be a joyous event, has been tarnished and spoiled because of this company's disorganization and lack of...

Once Upon a Bagel in Highland Park is more than just a bagel spot and deli – it's a cornerstone of the community and a place that feels like home. From the owners to the management to the staff here are not just cool and supportive, they make you feel like a part of their family. This place isn’t just a business; it's an institution, woven into the fabric of my life. But it's more than just great food – it’s the sense of community that truly sets Once Upon a Bagel apart. It's a gathering spot, a place to connect, and a part of our collective local history.
