Del Taco — Restaurant in Highland

I had a horrible experience here today at 3:00 pm. I ordered using a coupon, and I asked if I could use another or get a senior discount, and the manager, who was taking my order, rudely told me I could only use one coupon, and went on to say that she has told me before, berating me as if I were a child! I eat at many DT's throughout the state, as I travel on business, and my experience has shown the norm is two coupons in addition to my senior discount. It's no big deal to me, it's just how belittling and cruel someone can be to another human being. I work hard and earn decent pay, and there's no reason to treat anyone the way I have been treated by this round-faced, middle aged woman manager today and in the past. . A few years ago I purchased $600 worth of gift cards on Cyber Monday. I used them throughout the state including the free meal coupons I printed out and used at many DT's throughout the state. However when I tried to use them at this location, this same manager told me the coupons were fake, I was cheap and trying to get something for nothing, and when I tried to use one my gift cards, she stated that they would not work! I grinned in disbelief, I had purchased $600 worth of gift cards to get the free meals and give gift cards away for the holidays. She ordered me out of the restaurant because I had grinned in disbelief! I reported her to the corporate office in Irvine, and stayed away for a couple of years. I will continue to visit del Taco in nearby cities and throughout the state because everyone is friendly and courteous. But if you have coupons or gift cards, I would definitely avoid this location like the plague, especially if you are elderly, have high blood pressure, or just don't like being taken advantage of and...

My husband ordered through drive thru on October 28th. One item was incorrect so I called 15 min after he came home with the order to let them know that one item was incorrect. A young man took my name and stated that he could remake it that day or whenever I came in. So I said that I would be coming by the following day. So today I stopped by around 2:30pm and explained that I was suppose to get a replacement for an incorrect order from yesterday and that I left my name with an employee. So I guess the manager which was a short Hispanic lady with glasses informed me that my name wasn't left and she couldn't help me. I showed her the number and time in which I called and she stated that it wasn't their number but the employees in the back explained that it was their number and she said there was nothing she could do to help me. I told her to look up my husband's order and she could see that I was telling the truth and she refused and said she wasn't doing that and couldn't help me. So I left and called corporate to report her because she didn't even try to help me or hear me out. She said if she didn't see my name there's nothing she could do. My point is that I presented her with all evidence but she still refused to help me! What happened to assuming the customer is right and trying to help them out! She was flat out rude and defiant! And the order which was wrong was some dried and hard fries with a spoon full of chili! It was supposed to be a deluxe cheddar cheese fries but instead it was a dried out chili cheese fries! Not really sure what to say... I went for a late night snack with a friend and I guess an argument broke out in the drive through in front of us over the fact that the frier and the icecream mashine we're under maintenance or something and after waiting 20 min. three cars in front of me drove off in a hurry without thier food. When I got up to the window I asked the lady if she knew anything about the cars and she had no clue. She walked off for a moment looking like she was arguing with someone, which was odd because she was the only person there from what I could see, (there were no other cars parked by the restaurant and no one responded to her) but then she came back and handed us a bag of food and said we could just have it. I was really confused by now and it was 1 AM so I decided not to push my luck as all of this was very weird and it seemed like she was having a bad night so I was really just happy to get home. Now the food was not what I ordered and being a vegan I couldn't eat any of what she gave me so I was a bit disappointed but my friend could eat it and I got free food for waiting for so long so I'm not going to complain. And from what my friend said the food was good quality. This was just an overall weird experience but I've been to this location before in the past and it's never been a problem.
