In-N-Out Burger — Restaurant in Highland

Usually really good experience. Today though, the drive thru guy that took our order was rude and rushing us even though we were ready to order. Torrey I believe was his name, took our order outside and I got grilled cheese and animal style fries. He heard grilled cheese animal style and my husband said "no it was grilled cheese AND animal style fries". After that he stayed silent and took a deep breath as if he was bothered. Then he said "what else." Not as a question but more like a statement and very bluntly. My husband ordered his thing "can i get a number 1 please? And the burger lettuce-wrapped?" The guy, once again with an attitude said "okay so thats called protein style not "lettuce wrapped"". Me and my husband stared at each other like, what is this guy's problem? Then he repeated our order saying the two burgers and fries, said "thats it? Youre not missing anything?". My husband said "yes thats it". The guy then said "no drinks? Youre not missing anything else?" It made it seem like he was purposely leaving out that he didnt get the drink that comes with the #1. My husband asked "doesnt the #1 come with a drink?" maybe the menu changed and we didnt know. No, the guy said "well i dont know what drink you want if you dont tell me". Like what??? You didnt ask what drink we wanted??? Usually they ask all the questions! Anyways we got the drink and he just told us to pull forward, didnt even tell us the total. Rude interaction, ive never seen that...

This in-n-out has a place in my heart. I am a highland native and moved all the way across the US about a year ago. I remember going to this n in out from my early years till the last day we left it was also the last meal I ate in California as well. No they didn't get the meal right every time and no they didn't cook it perfectly but it's a n-in-out that's ran by humans so that's what you'd expect. I remember many of our family's friends and people we knew working here and then them leaving too. I remember the happy times going to get some fries and a burger and the sad times of flying out from Ontario Airport and seeing highland off in the distance for the last time. So thank you in-n-out for doing your best and making a permanent impact in my heart I will be back...
