I visited this place six years ago and gave them a five star rating and wrote a glowing review about how great it was, but since then the quality has dramatically decreased. Almost all Chinese buffets over multiple varieties of shrimp, but there were none at all to be found yesterday. At any other Chinese buffet I want General Tso's chicken over noodles, but it was terrible this time. The sauce was bland and as thin as water. The chicken was bland as well and had a very disagreeable texture and thicker breading than it should have. The bacon-wrapped crab leg segments were practically tasteless. How can you make bacon bland? I hate wasting food, but after a couple bites of the General Tso's chicken I set that plate aside and returned to the food lines. They had fried wings, and I thought they couldn't make anything fried bland so I took a few. I was wrong, the wings had very little taste. The breading on them was very thick and brittle with just a little meat underneath. Gone was the chocolate mocha cake they had six years ago. The Teriyaki chicken was just okay. The apple puffs were just okay with just a little apple filling in them. The only positive thing was that the crab rangoons were good. In the review I wrote six years ago I mentioned that they gave me a seniors' discount without me even asking, but this time when I asked about it the guy said, "No, everybody pay same."
BTW, the pictures you see here are from the five star review I wrote six years ago. Their line doesn't look nearly...
Read moreSeems like they have fallen over the years. Unlike the rumor mill back in 1985+ before Stephano's when the first Chinese place arrived across from the old Hillsboro High School and had really good food and a huge egg roll for $1 that was almost a full meal and went there every day during lunch to play Donkey Kong Junior with a friend.
The only reason it closed by rumor says is because the Health Dept. found dead Cat hanging in the Refer at the time. Before the place came in there were over 30+ cats roaming the Motel/Apartments behind there and when they left was less than 5. Damn General Tso was good and any Chicken Dish and Chicken Egg Roll.
Now when this new place opened the food was always good for 2+ decades from the 1990's on but maybe the children of original owner are what is causing this because the original owner supported the community via sports programs and other charity work and always had excellent food. Leave it to Millennials and Zoomers to ruin a legacy. No matter what skin...
Read moreLoved this place as a kid staff was always friendly and kind but now staff is rude I order from here occasionally but really tempted to not order from here anymore the down fall is this is the only chinese restaurantin our small town. Every time I order from here stuff is missing or they mess up the order. I've went back to tell them my order is messed up or they forgot things and they want to argue about how I didn't order this I ordered that ect. I'm autistic and always write my order down before calling or have someone call. I had a friend go in and order one time my friend showed the lady my order on my note pad on my phone and the order was still messed up/missing things. This establishment has really went down hill and it saddens me cause this was my favorite place to eat growing up. Also the front area upon walking in is always a mess always has...
