Hands down the best indian restaurant! I've been coming here for a couple months every now & then, and every time I come here has been the best experience ever in Indian cuisine! If you want the best and most flavorful curries you've ever had, come here! Most delicious Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken ever 😋
I usually come here for the curries because that is all I've known and is the most popular and man, they're attention to flavor and spices are incredible! In the past my dad would comment that when he used work in California, there used to be a restaurant with incredibly delicious indian food, and that was how he was introduced to the popular curries and indian food and to him that was the best restaurant he ever had in terms of indian food, and that he hadn't experienced another restaurant similar in flavor and detail to that one. The first time we went here as a family, the first bite he took of his Chicken Tikka Masala, he said it brought him back to that California restaurant where he tried that dish for the first time. He said he felt like that guy in Ratatouille 🤣 The Garlic Naan of their choices of Naan bread for the curry is by far the best in my opinion and really elevates the meal further. The price is too good to pass up and have your mind blown lol 🤤
Today I wanted something a little new. The staff here are always super friendly and professional and today felt above and beyond most restaurants in general. I mentioned that I wanted something new and that i havent had much indian food other than just their popular curries. The waiter was very helpful explaining the different dishes on the menu, how it is made and other interesting facts, and helped me decide upon some of the recommendations, as well as asking how open I am to spicy food. I personally love spicy food but the fact he asked and cared about a customer's tolerance is professional and helps me know that if i were to recommend a restaurant to a friend, I know they will be in good hands! He was very informative and helpful getting me on the right path. He also directed me to their website to see pictures that weren't on the menu of other dishes, to get an idea what it was. Just an awesome waiter. Today, I went with my brother and he was starving and I wasn't as hungry but wanted to eat something small with him and save some leftovers, so I was guided to choosing the Mirchi Chicken (appetizer) today and like the other dishes I've tried, it was very flavorful and delicious, it is spicy and might be too spicy for someone with a low tolerance. I really enjoyed it and was what i was looking for that was an appetizer. I also paired it with some samosas and those were incredible as well, with the 2 sauces that come on the side. On the menu, there is a difference that he did point out between the simply named 'Samosa' vs the 'Chai & Samosa', that the samosas that come with the 'Chai & Samosa' are small, while the standard dish, they are bigger. I love the big, chunky version a lot more, which come with the two sauces, my god. Though, you cant go wrong with either one honestly. If you're getting a curry or any other main dish, it can be too much food, in which i recommend the Chai version. The Chai is so amazing too! If you want a drink to warm you up, its a must try tea 😋
I could go on and on about this restaurant but to end things off, they are my go to for indian food. They got the best customer service and food here in the Beaverton / Aloha area. They really know what they're doing, the quality is outstanding with the price, and I can't recommend enough to anyone to try their Chicken Tikka Masala or Butter Chicken curries as their first experience, especially with their Garlic Naan, as well as trying their Samosas and Chai (tea). The staff are always friendly, informative, and...

In recent years, every Thanksgiving, we order an Indian feast. This became a tradition during the pandemic and we have come to love it.
Our two favorite Indian restaurants started to decline pretty badly, one even closed down. It was so sad to see something that was once perfection, fall away because someone stopped caring about quality or consistency.
We were wondering where to order from this year and just happened to see recommendations for 185th and Indian. I was disappointed to see on their menu they did not have any okra dishes, as that's my favorite. They also do not have any bread-like options for gluten sensitive people like me (uttapam, dosa, etc), but they had naan for the rest of the family, so 🤷.
Decided to go for it and ordered a smattering of dishes. This is what we ordered: Chicken Tikka Masala Chicken Dum Biryani Palak Paneer Plain-Naan Bhagara Baingan Curry Mughalai Chicken Lamb Vindaloo Pakora Butter Chicken
We ordered most dishes MILD since our kids are less tolerant of spicy food than we are. We ordered one or two dishes medium spicy.
Now for the taste... The flavors were OUT OF THIS WORLD DELICIOUS! Every single dish was crave worthy, scrumptious, had well balanced flavors and was honestly the best Indian food we've ever had, and we've tried a lot! It rivals our most favorite Indian place ever which is in Flagstaff Arizona, so 👏👏👏!
Even on day two and three of leftovers it was so sooooo good!
Portions were decent, each dish had lots of the protein (chicken/lamb/paneer), rice comes with it (some places make you order rice separately)
The cons: -As noted above, the lack of dosa or uttapam for someone who can't eat wheat or maida was sad for me.
this was the first time ordering Indian food where no sauces were included with our order. No raita, no chutney's, nothing. Very disappointing.
-EVERYTHING was pretty spicy, despite our request for mild. We like spicy but this meant our kids had a hard time and barely ate. That part was VERY disappointing.
Here are some notes for each dish: Chicken Tikka Masala (Excellent! Perfection in flavors! Lots of chicken. Some fatty bits left on, wish they'd trim that off before cooking. However this was still the best of any Indian restaurant regarding meat which is true for all their meat dishes we ordered.)
Chicken Dum Biryani (Surprised there were 3 bone in pieces of chicken in this, very generous! The flavors were perfectly balanced, scrumptious! Not overpowering like other places we've had this dish)
Palak Paneer (DEVINE! Couldn't get enough)
Plain-Naan (Big portion, family loved it)
Bhagara Baingan Curry (Pleased the eggplants were intact and not pulverized, very yummy. Stems were attached to the eggplants though so watch out)
Mughalai Chicken (Delicious, mouthwatering dish! Had some small fatty bits left on chicken, wish they'd trim that before cooking. )
Lamb Vindaloo (Incredible! Lots of lamb, lots of potatoes! Lamb was a bit fatty though, could be trimmed better)
Pakora (Very spicy, good flavor, probably better to eat at the restaurant since it's fried. )
Butter Chicken (Incredible! Yummy dish! Same notes on trimming.)
All of that, and the conclusion to this scary long review is, THIS IS THE BEST INDIAN RESTAURANT! WE ARE HOOKED! We hope that they will remain consistent and be around for many years! You will not regret eating...
Read moreThis is the Only Biryani I Will Ever Recognize Friends, I need to be honest. Before I ate here, I was merely existing. I was a vessel wandering the culinary world of Indian food. Hands held together my wife and I walked into 185th & Indian, and it wasn't just a meal that we had, it was a spiritual intervention. This isn't our favorit Indian place; it’s the only Indian place.
From the moment we arrived we were instantly greeted and seated, and I quickly noticed the menus. They werent flimsy paper, mind you, but laminated relics encased under the glass tabletop; a commitment to cleanliness and permanence that instantly earned my admiration. The place had quite a bit of people, vibrating with anticipation, to me were all good signs!
My mission was clear: the legendary Vijaywada Biryani. My wife the sensible one, ordered the Dal Tadka. We sat, chatting, unaware that our lives were about to be changed into a before biryani and After biryani era. When the food arrived, it didn’t just smell good; it had an aura. The fragrance of my Biryani was the scent of success. I scooped a forkful, and the world went silent. I chewed, I processed, and I stopped. I could only manage a slow silent thought.. "Oh my goodness, I think this is the sound of my soul finding peace." Then came her dish. The Dal Tadka. It wasn’t a lentil stew; it was a symphony of ghee, spice, and a beautiful intervention. If the Biryani was the main act, the Dal Tadka was the encore. And if that wasn't enough, a gentleman, who I am fairly certain is an ordained Biryani priest, approached our table. He didn't just explain how to eat it; he performed a sacred ritual. With the agility of a seasoned cardiac surgeon, he demonstrated the proper, ancient technique for separating the top layer of rice and mixing the chicken to create a delicious blend with its sauces. The fluid motion of his hands, it was less a prepping tip and more a culinary martial art.
The aftermath was glorious. My wife, packaged her leftovers. My plate, however, was a crime scene but with no evidence. There was no piece of rice left. My personal mission was to scrape every last molecule of sauce from the ceramic. I left my plate so clean, my mother would finally be proud of my table manners. As we floated out the doors (walking was no longer necessary), I knew I couldn't let the moment end. I paused, closed my eyes, and took a deep satisfying whiff of my own garlic and spice-infused exhalation. Friends, it was a time machine. I was instantly transported back to the first glorious bite. Thank you, 185th & Indian, for this experience. You haven't just earned a repeat customer, you've earned my allegiance. You’ll be seeing more of us, and I’ll be ready for my next inteverntion when I order...
