This is a long review but I wanted you to hear my side of the story and needed a second opinion…. I just want to say this place has very great tasting food with no complaints for the cooks what so ever never had a issue I am only giving a 1 star review based on the last couple times I’ve went there (for there customer service) I’ve noticed that the severs don’t give me the time of day hardly come up to my table asking for refills or anything and when they do it’s rude sounding I’ve always wondered why I’ve never put a thought behind it till now as to why they remember me and treat me the same every time I go there Well today I went there for lunch and we got a table our sever wasn’t giving us the time of day again (keep this in mind that me or my partner has never complained or been rude to any of the staff members inside or outside of the work place) but when ordering we later get are food and the second it gets put on the table a completey different waitress or server from another section walks over to our table and rudely says “ SO ARE WE GOING TO BE TIPING ARE SEVER TODAY” with a rude side eye and expression on her face me and my partner felt very uncomfortable wondering as to why she said that when we leave a tip every-time we come in even when are servers don’t come to check on us or give us refills maybe it’s not the amount they want but it doesn’t make it ok to demand tips I just have a few questions where does it say that we have to tip other then for party’s over 6 or 8 why did a completely different waitress walk up uninvited to our table from another section DEMANDING that we have to tip are current server tell me how unprofessional that was for her to say that to a customer that for one isn’t even hers (tbh if our sever had a problem with us being at her table then why wouldn’t she have said something rather then gossip to her coworkers ab us and look at us from across the room while we are trying to eat and make another girl come up to ask that rude question) after that girl said that to us we notice that the waitress kept looking at us mean mugging which made me uncomfortable I didn’t even eat my food bc I was shaking and upset at the fact we just got are food and a different sever was demanding tips from us demanding tips is unprofessional and rude it’s also says on the internet “in the United States, a tip is not legally required and the amount of the tip is at the discretion of the customer unless written in paper form in the workplace saying you must tip this much” if the workers are remembering us everytime we come in and treating us the same each time because “we never tip” or “we don’t tip enough” is unacceptable As a manger myself in my own work place setting. if my employees are demanding tips from our costumers that’s not required from our business requirements it’s highly unprofessional If a customer comes in (no one knows what they are going though nor should they treat that same costumer with any less of respect from them the last time they came in and discriminateAgainst them from coming in again from the pass because they don’t tip enough ) some people only have so much money and for the porches employees to demand tips from people with party’s under the limit that’s required is not ok if they require a certain amount of money to tip then why is there amounts on the receipt to circle or add a custom tip if what I tip or other people tip isn’t enough for that sever if they have a problem where they work and they think they are not making enough money then they should find a different work place or ask there own boss to give them a raise if they think they are not making enough money rather then to walk over to there costumers demanding for a tip or say what I tipped last time wasnt enough. Read moreMy husband and I have been to The Porch multiple times and can’t say enough great things about this place. The first time we came, I brought my entire staff for a Christmas Dinner and it was wonderful. The staff was extremely attentive and very quick to have drinks and appetizers out to our large group. Second time was with a some friends from out of town and their parents (who are local) and my husband and I have been (seated at the bar, which we prefer). We have always had superb service and always see the multiple family members who own the restaurant checking in with tables or assisting the staff.
We will start with the drinks! The Porch punch is amazing and not too sweet (I hate when you go for a cocktail and it tastes like straight syrup). This was not the case. I also had the blueberry mule and a traditional Moscow Mule. Seriously refreshing to have a mule in our small town (please note, no other restaurant carries ginger beer). And can we talk about THE BLOODY MARY!!! OMG, this thing is so good. The right amount of spice and tang.
Next the appetizers. The spinach dip is to die for and served with pita chips. A very healthy serving as well (honestly all items are a nice size). The pretzel bread and beer cheese was a fan favorite by all along with the cheese curds! Then the reuben egg rolls. REUBEN EGG ROLLS! Very large and extremely delicious and not something you would come across normally.
For dinner, everyone tried a little bit of everything. I had the ribeye. Great quality and seasoned well. Many had the Alfredo (I also sampled) and had great flavor with a large serving. The burgers are huge with quality toppings and a ton of different options. The traditional wings are HUGE and the sauce options are flavorful. Medium and sweet Thai chili were my favorite but the stinging garlic was right behind. The boneless wings are seriously the biggest boneless wings I’ve ever seen. Light breading and of so good. My current front runner however is the pork tenderloin sandwich. The perfect amount of char from the grill, extremely tender and has great flavor from the marinade. 10 out of 10 would recommend!! All of the sides are large as well. Salads are HUGE and great quality. Not just the plain iceberg you get everywhere else and you can tell they take pride in their product. Very crisp fresh veggies and quality ranch (pretty sure they make their own croutons as well)
Of course we tried dessert throughout our visits and the cobblers are so good, but what makes it even better is the quality ice cream on top(and double scoop at that). We’ve sampled the blackberry and peach and both were great. We’ve also tried the chocolate chip cookie skillet (with ice cream, of course) and you honestly can’t beat a warm gooey cookie with ice cream.
Lastly, the pricing was absolutely on point (if not a tad under other comparable restaurants)! It is so nice to finally have something local with great quality, where normally you would have to leave town and go to the city to experience. We try to get something different every time we go and I can honestly say I continue to be impressed.
I am so proud of the progress and success of this local family owned restaurant in our small town. I can’t wait for warmer months to finally enjoy their large outdoor area and fire pit. Kudos to the family and their wonderful staff. We...
Read moreUPDATE3: This restaurant likes to post TikTok’s of their customers making fun of them and cursing. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE
UPDATE2: I explained to the owner who is very unwilling to listen to her customers that we never mistreated her staff, yet you see her reply as "mistreat our staff and we will do the same to you"
I guess asking for drinks after 35 mins of being seated is being rude? WHAT A JOKE
(For context, a person in our party flagged down our waitress and asked for drinks after we had been waiting for 35 mins. People seated after us had already finished their food)
UPDATE: Spoke with the owner of the establishment and she of course just listens to the story of her employee (because that’s who’s right, right? Not the person giving you money) and proceeds to disregard every concern I brought up while being condescending and rude. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. They have a large ego because they are popular (for now) and have lost all sight of serving the customer. The owner said we shouldn’t have treated our server like trash, but the reality of the situation is we saw our waitress Josie for maybe 80 seconds total altogether over the course of a two hour dinner. (Someone else had to seat us and bring our food and drinks, because apparently Josie couldn’t do her job that night.) And I’m not going to pay someone for a job not done well, like are you insane?
Absolute JOKE of a restaurant and establishment. We were ignored the entire dinner. After paying nearly $100 ordering high dollar menu items, you’d expect to get halfway decent service, right? Wrong
Our waitress, Josie, ignored us the majority of the time we were there. Apparently flagging her down and asking her to get us drinks is considered rude?! Our service was subpar and the food was just about as good. I’d very much steer clear of this establishment as they will take your money with a smile while they bring you subpar food and service. I will NEVER bring my hard earned money here ever again and I will tell EVERYONE to steer clear of this joke of a restaurant (who serves freaking pot stickers at a Steak and Burger joint 😂)
Josie decided it was a good idea to bad mouth us in the kitchen and didn’t think I wouldn’t hear it, however, she is sorely mistaken and I most definitely did hear it.
The best part is after we tipped our server what she was worth (0.01 cent) she proceeded to call us trash and chase us out of the restaurant while cursing us out. I called in to speak with the manager who kept ignoring the call initially and then after calling a few times proceeded to take their employees side. WHAT A JOKE! 😂 Your food and restaurant is mediocre at best and you all take yourselves way...
