Emailed the restaurant and they were very accommodating for our gathering on a Saturday at 5 pm for my Dad’s 90th birthday party. We had 25 people attending. Had to move the time and date and they were very sweet helping with all the changes. Angel was great to work with setting this up. However, things quickly fell apart after we arrived. It took half an hour to take our drink orders. I have no idea why they didn’t take the drink orders as folks arrived to save time. That would have been the proactive approach as everyone was seated and prepared to order before 5:00 pm. It was early so they were not yet busy. We then waited another half hour approximately after that for the food orders. We planned to meet back at my parent’s home after the meal to gather but that was shot down by the timing issues they created. I paid $100 up front for the space and was told two servers would be working our section and that did not happen until I complained. I was led to believe it would be a separate area, but when I saw where we were placed I was concerned it would be too much for my parents due to the music and location to the bar. I was right to be concerned. They were overwhelmed by the noise.
When I complained about the wait for the food order two servers miraculously appeared from a packed kitchen of staff tripping over one another milling around with no one doing anything in particular but chatting. They both disappeared back to the back and we were back again with the slowwwww service. We had no silverware, so one of our party had to go on the search for silverware and started handing them out as if she worked there herself. The food took a while too but that was to be expected due to the number of our party. The one young lady worked her behind off trying to serve this many people by herself but she clearly needed help. The food was very good, but the extra expense for the space seemed inappropriate for the service provided. It wouldn’t have been so bad if some of the folks in the back had actually stepped up and helped. I would recommend a small party of no more than 4 people at a time if you want...
Read moreThis is my first ever negative review of a restaurant, or rather the first negative experience I felt was worth leaving an actual review over. Our first time dining here mind you. We attempt to start with appetizers. "Can we get the cheese sticks?" "Were out" "Can we get the smoked deviled eggs?" "Were out" "Let's try the pretzal?" "Were out" "Potato skins?" (Finally picked a winner) He orders the brisket plate that comes with cornbread, slaw and two sides. Orders broccoli as one side "were out". Leaves it at one side bc honestly who wants to keep playing this game at this point? Yes, the server litterially answered just like im writing it. I order the char grilled shrimp skewers, Mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes. "Were out" Settle for a baked potato. His brisket comes very plain/unseasoned without the cornbread, when the server comes back he asks "out of cornbread?" "Yup" and she walks away. My char grilled shrimp was boiled? Maybe a flat top if we're trying to give the benefit of the doubt. The menu says "mac and cheese" it doesn't mention "contains pork", as it heavily has bacon. (I'm 9 months pregnant so this was super disappointing) The server clears his plate after hes eaten then comes back with a cold piece of cornbread, burnt and without butter. "Here ya go, sorry about that" We could have asked for different entrees, or even sides but honestly at this point do you even have anything else to eat? I understand if you are out of things but the server could have started with a list of things your out of, or even a list of what you do have bc it would have been shorter. A little sympathy or care in her delivery would have been cool. (She was young so im giving her the benefit of the doubt) We paid our bill and headed out. The manager we passed didn't smile, or throw out a "have a good night" "thanks for coming". I feel like I've been pranked bc what even...
Read moreWe heard great things about this place through friends. We decided to drive all the way from Cincinnati to go to dinner there. I went onto OpenTable and made a reservation. We requested an outside table. When we got there, the hostess didn’t even look at us. She said nothing. Then she walked away. When she finally spoke to us, she said they were out of menus but would get us one as soon as they became available. She sat us at a table inside. When I told her we had requested an outside table, she said we couldn’t sit outside because they were having a concert. I then asked her to see a menu so we could decide if we wanted to stay or not. She said they really didn’t have any and there was a special menu because of the concert they were having. She said it was only appetizers. I then told her that I had made a reservation on OpenTable and there was no indication of a concert being held. I also told her there was an option to select outside seating. She then said there were no tables outside, but we could go stand out there. She said in order to do that we would have to buy a wristband for $40. At that point, another girl came to the hostess stand. I told her the same thing and also told her we had driven all the way from Cincinnati. All I got was a “sorry”. I told her we also looked on the website to check it out before we made the reservation, and there was no indication about a concert being held. When we got to the car, I looked on the website again and saw nothing. Of course, we left. We ended up going to a restaurant called The porch. It was amazing! The service was great and the food was delicious! Don’t go to...
