Sassafras Kitchen & Coffee Bar — Restaurant in Hillsboro

I had breakfast at Sassafras for the first time this morning and it exceeded all expectations. I've heard amazing things about this place since it opened and it did not disappoint. I got their special for the day which was the Chorizo breakfast burrito and it was absolutely delicious. The proportion was big and the burrito and everything inside was cooked perfectly. I also ordered a iced vanilla latte and it was perfect, so good! I'm a huge iced coffee drinker and Sassafras is better than most around! Aside from the food and drinks being amazing, the atmosphere was phenomenal, I loved the vibe and I absolutely love that they support local artists with their artwork for sale on the walls! Lastly, our server was amazing. She was so friendly, bubbly and had great energy. I don't think I saw her without a smile on her face. I sadly didn't catch her name, but I'll be sure to next time! I highly recommend this place and will be back again and again. Excited to try a cocktail next time as well!

Hillsboro so needed a place like this. The "build it and they will come" credo worked! The ambience is an amazing blend of approachable and upscale atmosphere, not intimidating but also so lovely and it's an absolute oasis from the real world that its capable proprietors, Cortney and Lindsey have created here. Our server, Felicity, was not only incredibly courteous and efficient but also one of only a few of the most amazing humans I've ever met! The managerial personnel and staff have exemplified what it means to invest in one's hometown and truly care and bring out the best in everybody. Recommend. My 9 year old daughter has actually been the one that's been dying to try this place out. So the day before Thanksgiving seemed like just as good as any day to do it. Once we got it we were instantly greated by two friendly staff members and we were seated within 3 minutes. And the official dinning area was definitely an artistic cozy sight to see.
