Nash Street Tavern — Restaurant in Hillsborough

It's not the best bar in town but it's a pretty good one. They've got live music a lot, most of which is pretty good and some of it is even great. The prices are not great but not bad and the drinks are poured very adequately. You probably aren't going to get a light pour but don't expect to ever get a heavy one either. The bartenders make a decent mixed drink and are very friendly. The average guest here is also very friendly. This is a good place to go and meet some new friends or chat with old ones. But it is also a good place to just go and have a couple of drinks while you read a good book, just so long as there's no live music at the time you go for that. They don't serve any food here but there is complementary popcorn so there's something to munch on. And you're welcome to bring in food from somewhere else. What a find. Nash Street Tavern is the best local bar 🍻 for conviviality, music and drinks in Hillsborough NC. Tucked away in the former mill town neighborhood of the historic city of Hillsborough ( featured in the hit series Outlander no less) the Nash Street Tavern is that secret hideaway that more folks will want to visit. Several restaurants next door offer a variety of eat out or take out options. My only beef is...if NST wants to continue hosting top talent, they need to pay them more than tip jar. The double bill of Gone Ghosts and Heat Preacher was superlative entertainment and they deserve to be appreciated...

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I'm a Navy Veteran and have never been treated as disrespectfully as in this "establishment.". Hillsborough is a known liberal town in NC, and you will find those values no more upheld than at the Nash Street Tavern! If you would like a good experience and treated fairly, I would strongly suggest visiting someplace else if you are moving to, or coming through this area of NC. The staff will blatantly ostracize you if they hear anything not aligning with their beliefs. Patrons...
