My wife and I don’t get out much together due to difficult work schedules but managed to cobble together a date night this week and drove 20 miles to Durham to try a new place (which we’ll leave nameless to keep the peace). Parking was a pain, and the place was quite busy, but they assured us we’d get a table within 5 minutes. 20 minutes later the unhelpful mgr told us it’d be an hour so we left, irritated, and without dinner. Drove back to Hillsborough and stopped in to try this pizza shop. Best decision of the week, bar none. Menu is really interesting with items that you might expect in Tuscany (they have fantastic pizza cooked in a high temp oven and offer great side items including octopus which I know some ppl think is unusual but is fabulous). Food was amazing, the bar served outstanding drinks (the old fashioned is to-die for and they have excellent draft beer) and everyone there was cheerful and attentive. We noticed that our fellow customers were all having a great time. They have an outdoor patio in the rear so the place is bigger than it looks and it doesn’t feel crowded. We thought it was amazing, and the experience reversed the disappointment from earlier in the evening. Really appreciated the great food and good cheer. We’ll be back...

The pizzas are the undeniable stars of the show, with perfectly charred crusts, fresh, high-quality ingredients, and flavor profiles that are both creative and satisfying. Whether you’re a classic Margherita fan or craving something more adventurous, every bite feels like a love letter to your taste buds.
But what really took the experience to the next level was Lindsey, the bartender extraordinaire. Her skill behind the bar was as impressive as the wood-fired oven in the kitchen. Lindsey’s Old Fashioned was one of the best I’ve ever had—balanced, bold, and smooth. And the Margarita? A true masterpiece—bright, fresh, and the perfect blend of tart and sweet.
Lindsey didn’t just serve drinks; she crafted an experience. Her genuine warmth, attention to detail, and passion for her craft made the evening unforgettable.

Read moreRounded up to a 4/5. I got takeout from here; the interior was very inviting and airy and the staff were very friendly.
The food was more hit or miss for us. The pizzas (Margherita and funghi) were both very good, with a great neopolitan crust. We wanted the octopus salad listed on their website's menu but we were told they no longer serve that (disappointing). The beet salad we got instead was adequate. The butternut squash soup was pleasant but was packed refrigerated and cold, we were unsure if this was on purpose or we were expected to microwave it.
The Cornicione sandwich was the biggest disappointment. The bread was overly dense and thick, while the meat fillings were very scant.
All of the items were pricy for what you get, though to be fair, there is no tip requires because it's built into the prices, even though when you scan your card it still asks you how much tip you want to leave...
I personally would only come back here for the pizza, but even then, I think there are a few better options in the...
