HH Prime — Restaurant in Hilton Head Island

HH Prime was pretty good. We were able to get reservations last minute but when we got there, we saw that we didn't even need reservations. Not sure if they're busier during the summer but there were only 2 other tables in the entire restaurant being served.

Our waitress was very nice and considering that I don't think she was supposed to be our waitress, I was very happy that we ended up with her.

Bread was given to start along with some honey butter with black salt. The butter combination was very good but the bread was a bit hard. No complaints though.

We started off with the calamari. This was very chewy and had a lot of breading. I actually couldn't finish much of it because it was making my jaw hurt.

Our main courses were much better. My steak was cooked very well and their mashed potatoes and homemade steak sauce was great. One of our steaks was over cooked (asked for Medium Rare--received Medium). Our waitress did not push back at all and promptly took the steak back and brought a new one out quickly. This one was cooked perfectly. Because of this, she also took off our calamari without us having to ask so I was very happy with that.

All in all, steaks were excellent, other foods were okay, service...

I cannot explain how frustrated I am about this restaurant. For starters it took over half an hour to receive my first drink. The entire dinner took over 3 hours ( I was not with the other person who I see left a separate review saying her dinner also took over 3 hours). I noticed I am not the only person with this complaint recently as to service. My party was only a table of four. We had a reservation at 7 and we weren't able to leave until after 10pm. This was not by choice. During this 3 hour window, I was served with a total of 3 drinks. I had to ask for things multiple times. The service was the worst and slowest service I have ever experienced. The food was not above and beyond. In fact, I order the Oscar topping and the waiter literally had to show me where the crab meat was because when he placed the plate on the table, I didn't see it at all. It was mixed in with everything on the plate, instead of being a "topping". My steak was not cooked the way I ordered. The dessert was clearly a frozen cake and was not made fresh. The food is absolutely not worth the price. I cannot stress enough how awful the service was. This place really should not exist. It's a terrible excuse for an elevated steakhouse. So...

my husband and I made a reservation for HH Prime for our ninth wedding anniversary. The food and the service was excellent excellent. We Were seated by the manager (Very nice man unfortunately, I forgot his name,) our server was Devyn and he was on point with everything offering us great selections for a wine to go with our surf and turf. I had some questions about the menu and asked about special and he let us know what the catch of the day was. I asked about the cauliflower soup and Wanted to know if I could order it without the white truffle oil. he said he would find out for me as soon after that he arrived or two small samples of both soups, the cauliflower and the sheet crab soup. Inform me that yes they could prepare in order of the cauliflower soup without the white truffle and soup both of them were fantastic we decided to order the cauliflower soup surf and turf was amazing. My husband started the shrimp cocktail which came with the magical citrus chutney. Overall, if there was six stars that would give this place six stores top-notch Point will...
