The wife n I was here to celebrate a special occasion, but the only thing we talked about was how poor the service was. We had a 7:30 reservation, we got there at 7:20. The place wasn't too busy, I say probably half full and looked like there were plenty servers. Was nice cause we were seated right away and given our drink and food menus. What followed was 20 mins of not meeting our server or even an acknowledgement of us being there, we didn't even get a glass of water. There were plenty of servers walking past our tables and servicing the other tables around us. We watched as other tables, ordered their drinks, received there drinks, ordered their apps, and received it, with in the 20 mins we waited patiently. We thought could it be due to the color of our skin, that we were being dismissed, we seemed and felt out of place, after all we were the only asians in the the restaurant. Not suggesting anything, but all the other tables were receiving their food and drinks, while we waited for over 20 mins without even a glass of water. Growing frustrated, I stopped a worker and ask to speak to the manager, another 10 mins went by, and he came out, I explanained the situation to him, he said he would look into it, not one word of acknowledgement or an expression of apologies at all. After five mins, he came back out and poured us water, and took our drink and food orders. We now had a glass of water after 35 mins of waiting, wow! Now things were moving along as they should. The drinks and the food was ok. I ordered the porterhouse and the wife the ribeye, both at medium rare. They were cooked just right, but both steaks were underseasoned. Also not as tender as I thought they should be too. Don't get me wrong, the steaks were ok, just not upscale steak house quality, I say they were probably somewhere between Applebees and Outback Steakhouse. Wasn't expecting Manny's or Murray's but was expecting a better than Outback or Texas Roadhouse quality and experience. After we reived our steaks, the manager came back out and gave some excuses and apologized. We definitely would not come back here or recommend this place due to the bad service and...
Read moreMy wife and I have eaten at Winds Steakhouse a number of times. On Saturday, October 4, 2025 we drove up to spend a couple hours at Grand Casino and then finish off the evening by having dinner where we always bragged to others about how Winds Steakhouse has the best Ribeye steak ever. We did not have reservations, which was fine. The hostess asked us to "Step Aside" so they could seat everyone with reservations. While we were waiting, another lady walked up and said "We don't have reservations" to which the hostess said "That's okay, we'll seat you right away." The hostess then continued seating everyone with reservations and we then got to sit down. That did not make sense.
We were so excited to order the Ribeye and Au Gratin potatoes. In the past, the Ribeye was always filled with flavor, it was juicy, and super tender. Not this time. The ribeye was bland, chewy, and dry. The Au Gratin potatoes used to come in a small casserole dish and were amazing. Not this time. They were "scooped" onto our plate (smaller portion). The potatoes were crunchy, meaning they were not cooked completely, and it felt like the recipe had been changed. My wife's French Onion soup was a 10/10 and the salad was just like we remembered, but again, something was not right with the steak and au gratin potatoes. Are they cutting corners and buying a lower grade of steak? Did the au gratin potato recipe change? And the prices . . . the Ribeye used to be around $35 and now it was $54.
We joked on the drive up that White Castle was still in town, and now wish we would have stopped there instead. Maybe we just had a bad cut of beef and the chef was not on his/her A-Game that night. Needless to say, the $155 we spent, plus the $30 tip is $185 I'll never see again. I'm sorry for the negative review, but something is not right when a restaurant starts to cut corners, it shows, and unfortunately, we will not be back.
On a side note - the menu was super cool how it lights up, making it easier to read in lower...

Easy to cancel thou. We had an appetizer and entree Walleye & Chicken Marsala. Both were excellent. We had a great server, Kathy, so attentive. Great service, great food, good price. We were greeted by Ricky E and told about it Chef's Tour. We were excited about the menu and included a glass of Chardonnay. We were given our Chardonnay and a bread basket, yum. Our scallops Benedict came and it was fantastic. Kudos to the chefs. Next course cobb salad. Our main course Black & Blue Manhattan steak. That also had choice of potato, we chose cheese potato.
