When I heard the name Ole Times Country Buffet I thought of a place that served up a very local local crusine. We were in the carpark a few blocks from ole Time reminiscing about chicken and dumplings. It was during Thanksgiving that I first had my taste of chicken and dumplings in West FL. My own remembrance of dumplings was so different how we prepared our dough for dumplings dishes as Dumpling and crab Dumpling and black eye 👁️ peas Dumpling fried I felt like Tom Hank in the movie Forest Gump and his fellow soldier. When they were in the war zone what kept them alive and full of hope was their dream of owning a shrimp restaurant. Together they envisioned all type of shrimp recipes. Coconut shrimp Shrimp in tomato sauce Sauteed shrimp Steam shrimp Shrimp cocktail Shrimp and pasta etc
On this day we reminisce and I was told there is a place where you can get chicken and dumplings and I was curious to learn about such a place, since then I have returned serval times to this place of business. the buffet is small restaurant to grap a quick bite it always filled most of the tables taken. Dine- in is relaxation and letting go, that was my experiences at ole Time we were on a topic that drew a lady sitting by herself to our table. The food was wonderful ,but the conversation went way past the meal as we wile the time away on a Sunday summer afternoon.
The menu of fish, steak and chicken veggies like cabbage, carrots and green beans, mack and cheese, chicken and dumplings and dessert of pies, pudding 🍮 cakes etc. hot and steaming. The selection is quite good the fry chicken, not so fried, it was a wee bit hard.. Service was good, and the atmosphere is very pleasingly background music and good food. The prices is by the portions, you need wisdom to portion out your selections. It could be quite costly. While I was there they mop around the tables and the floor it was clean and fragrance. Also we chatted about the employee photos on the wall, and their shifts asking questions to better acquaint ourselves with this Family of ole times it is not a Diner it a Buffet. it was quite the ole Times energy and spirit I must say. Their personal carpark for everyone both the disabled and elderly with wheelchair, walkers etc and their restroom makes the day or night what it is.
The cashier here is very personable ,helpful and attentive,we paid with our debit card and reluctantly left.

The quality of the food was limited on taste..no seasonings to enhance flavors. Ther wasn't much of a selection unless ur from here and kno what it is ur eating, u had to ask what things were cus it's not marked. No sweet potatoes of any kind except the pie for desert which wasn't good. Biscuits were old an dry. Steak was cooked all one temp an put in liquid to sit..no mushrooms either to top off. We asked for a rare steak which was good except for the grill pieces that we had to pick off (needs to be cleaned/scrapped). Mac n cheese was all dried out we had to ask for a fresh pan and it was tolerable. No cheese sauce !t all. The small fried shrimp and creamed corn were delicious..best part of buffet. Fried chicken without breading was ok. Bread pudding was best I've ever had..perfect amount of spice an cinnamon. Peach cobbler was disappointing..my grandson loved the chocolate pudding with brownie. Wasn't anything for my 3yr old grandson to eat such as pizza or chicken nuggets..they said they ran out of corn dogs(345pm). If ur from the NORTH don't waste ur money..if ur from the SOUTH then ul probly love all the beans, crawdads an collard stuff. Waitress was very pleasant. Manager which was also cooking was rude. Ladies bathroom stunk an had white puddles of something on the floor around the toilet in the handicap stall...no wet floor signs up. Overall for lunch that cost 11.99 person definitely wuld have been better goin to...
Read moreI would give it zero stars if possible. At first it seemed like a normal buffet, but I was wrong. I got a salad, a plate full of food and a beef/vegetable soup. I sat down and tried my salad but couldn't finish it because the lettuce had a dirt taste that even the salad dressing couldn't cover. I moved onto my food thinking it would be better but everything I had put on my plate turned out to be way overcooked or just cooked badly. I was beginning to get frustrated but I figured I would just move onto my soup and then grab a big dessert. I tried the soup and it tasted like over watered BBQ sauce with chunks of meat and vegetables in it. I couldn't stomach that, so again I moved on and got up to get dessert. I walked down to the dessert island and was disappointed yet again. Every single container was down to 1/8 of the contents and it seemed like it also had been sitting there a while. I just gave up, went back to my table and finished drinking my sweet tea. The waitress for our section seemed to be ignoring her tables the best she could. I tried flagging her down twice and she looked right past me. Now mind you I was wearing a high vis bright yellow shirt making me hard to miss. Finally as my father in-law is finishing his last bite she stops by and I was able to get her to refill his drink, but she seemed put-out just because she has to help him. My father in-law and I still had two hour drive ahead of us, plus we are not from that area so we figured there was no use trying to notify the manager. All in all i would stay clear...
