Waffle House — Restaurant in Hinesville

Walked in by myself today (Friday & a Holiday), clearly it was slow and no people, no greetings from anybody, sat directly in front at bar. I knew what I wanted and didn't need to look at the menu so I patiently waited to be attended. Sure enough, about 8-10 minutes later, still no one has acknowledged me! There's about 5 people working on shift (one looked to be the manager wearing a "million dollar club" shirt). After realizing everyone was avoiding making eye contact with me, I got up and left. Don't waste your time here! Million dollar club? Ha! You're not gonna get single dollar bill from me with those lousy attitudes of yours! I'll take my business to HuddleHouse down the streent where they actually greet you as you walk in! I DON'T recommend this specific waffle house to any one! By the way, there's another waffle house about a mile and a half up from this one with better services! Just an fyi.

Update: I thought of giving this place a second chance (mainly because I was too lazy to drive to the other location) and came in for a late breakfast. Server was attentive and awesome, food was okay (...at first), but when I came to pay my check, they left me standing there a good 8 minutes until someone finally acknowledged me and didn't say a word as she took my money. Meanwhile, as im standing there in front of the cash register, the cook (ironically the same girl with the Million Dollar Club shirt) placed her pack of cigarettes and cellular phone on the same countertop as where she was dicing tomatoes! Don't believe me? I got pictures! Disgusting! Funny thing, Waffle House doesn't do anything about these people until they come under fire on YouTube for health hazards, I'll just get an automated comment about visiting their website and commenting...

My expectations of any of Waffle House I go to are very low. This location just raised the bar for what to expect.

The restaurant is clearly very clean, the floors have definitely been mopped frequently and the tables are evidently wiped often. As someone who worked in food service, I can tell when equipment is cleaned often, and I can see from where I’m sitting now that the grill is scrubbed frequently, as well as the rest of the equipment.

My silverware received more than a few touches with a sponge. It was CLEANED. The staff had mentioned to me that they had meant to wipe everything down a few minutes earlier and were just now getting to it, and that speaks wonders on its own. Their standards for cleanliness are so high that a 9/10 job is dirty to them.

The staff is incredibly friendly. They all are well groomed and generally clean looking, something most of us are not used to when going to a Waffle House.

AND to top it all off, the food itself is fantastic. They took their time to make it, but not too long. They didn’t rush it, and made sure that this came out GOOD. Attached is a photo of my plate right as they gave me my food.

Whatever these people are getting paid, it isn’t enough. I arrived at around 2:15 on November 9, 2024, and EVERY staff member deserves recognition for the effort they are putting into their work. This has been a VERY pleasant surprise for me, and I will be...

I've never had problems at this waffle house, but the last time I went will be my last time. The areas we wanted to sit were dirty. All workers were seemingly busy so we ended up having to sit over in this corner. Took awhile for us to finally get a waitress. I'm still giving it the benefit of doubt because other times things were fine. We get our food abd the waitress disappears. I couldn't get another glass of water which I wanted, we needed a box and couldn't get it and when I said something to her all she could say is she had to take a call. I don't doubt that but due to the type of call she said it was amd the length of time she should've asked someone to watch her tables. Then she had someone else cash me out. Igo to complain to the manager after I paid. She immediately tries to say we don't have to pay for our food. I told her paying for it wasn't the issue, it's paid. The cooks were great! However, you need to be aware of this and something needs to be done. The waitress comes up and starts trying to over talk about this dog on call again. I left, but I promise I won't be back and I was very dissatisfied with the customer service and her behavior towards our dissatisfaction!!!
