I had extremely high hopes for this restaurant. I went on the āsoft openingā first day. There was a hiccup at the beginning of my experience due to being placed on a wait list for hibachi and then people coming in after me getting sat right away after asking how long the wait was. That was resolved immediately and i chopped it up to first day glitches and lack of communication. The food was good, I ordered Filet and Scallops w Fried Rice and sushi. It was cooked appropriately. I informed them immediately of my shrimp allergy and there was no issue, everyone at my table with the exception of one person ordered shrimp. The shrimp was cooked last for everyone. Today I ordered and ordered the same thing and explained about my allergy, the server froze and said I think yours will have to be cooked in the back. I said it did not have to be last time. Then a young inexperienced kid for a manager came over and said that they used to do that but they changed in a week. So from now on anyone with an allergy cannot experience hibachi because their food will have to be cooked in the back of the house. Can anyone whoās ever worked in a restaurant or has common sense deny that there is a higher chance of cross contamination there then on a flat top in front of people? So anyone with any sort of allergies please do not go to this medically bias restaurant. I understand they are trying to protect people and themselves but I have eaten hibachi several times with this allergy and there has never been a problem. And I have seen other people who have allergies eaten at a hibachi restaurant and have had zero issues. When people have a reaction that is so severe being in any proximity of the allergen they have a reaction then they tend to not go there. I will never come back nor will I advocate for my friends to come. I will however, tell people about this and to not ever.come and waste their money. I also just contacted another volcano location and they said that the person with the allergy has their food cooked first and the only thing cooked in the back is for someone who is allergic to gluten. Wow do they even know how to run a restaurant that is part of a branch of restaurants. And why put a teenager as a manager. Update: They sent me a response saying they take allergies serious and is why they cook in the back. I think itās very funny none of their other locations does that. They just cook the shrimp last like all other hibachi restaurants. They are full of excuses and did not care that I would be back their words were āgood luckā. WTAH is that they obviously do not care if they lose business. Oh well guess we will soon have an empty building if they donāt care about...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGG was my server tonight and he was friendly and accommodating. But the food was not good AT ALL. And the manager who came over was NOT very accommodating.
I was hungry -HANGRY, tbh. And this place looks so inviting and colorful from the outside which made my mom and I want to try it. GG was quick to greet us and brought our soups and salads very quickly. The salad was watery which is kinda gross but itās complimentary so I just picked at it a bit. Watery salad means they didnāt drain the water they washed the lettuce in enough, which may mean itās still dirty lettuce. Anyway thatās just my experience of what Iāve seen having worked in so many different restaurants for over a decade.
My mom and I both ordered the pretty pricey combination āhibachiā platters: hers salmon and scallops and mine strip steak and salmon. The food came out quickly-TOO quickly-and I could immediately tell that it was frozen cuisine. The salmon was flat like a patty that was freeze wrapped, the steak was these odd little morsel cubes that looked like they were shaped for dog food and the veggies were so obviously from a bag! The glaze over the food was thick like it came right out a jar and didnāt melt into the flavorless food because the food was NOT IN THE LEAST BIT HOT!
I was taking my mother out to spend time with her so I didnāt want to complain or be negative since we were excited about trying this place. So I asked her, āis your food hot,ā and she replied, āI donāt really like too hot food anyway.ā Well if that was just not the point! So I discreetly informed GG and asked if he had a microwave or something for this hibachi abomination. He said heād get the manager and he can discount my meal.
I was definitely not looking for a free meal; like I said, I worked in MANY restaurants and bars and I donāt want to be that customer. But I knew this meal was about to be 80 large so I at least want to eat this frozen meal hot. The manager came over and asked if everything is ok. When I explained the food was not hot (they didnāt that and nuke it all the way) he just stood looking at me. I humbly just said, āGG said youād discount it.ā The manager scurried away and gave me a check that was discounted $5.60! I went to this restaurant with high expectations and his response or lack thereof added bad customer service to the list.
We did not enjoy it here. GG was fine, the manager needs customer service training from GG, his staff. smh. Wonāt be returning. I might post this review on social media groups in that area. Thatās how frustrating this experience was. I wish the manager could have made this right, especially since they know this food is frozen food. Iām...

I just purchased a home in the area. Saw this restaurant coming to the area for months and for my love of Japanese food couldn't wait to visit. I finally got the opportunity today. When entered the restaurant I was amazed. I had visited a similar restaurant in New Jersey and was excited that one was in my area. ( Did I mentioned I love Japanese food). It was myself and one of my daughters( party of 2). My other daughter was coming to visit me the very next day and I was planning to visit the restaurant again next day and for my birthday in December. That's not happening. We sat next to a white couple to our right ,along with a Spanish family of 4 and another blk family of 3 to our left . The seems to be new .(he didn't have a red coat or hat and didn't entertain us at all). At the end I noticed that Tip was added to my bill. There was one added to the BLK family of 3 bill as well however the two non blk family no Tip added to their bill. I asked why . The waitress answer." If you are a party of 5 or more a Tip is added to the bill . We didn' t know the family, didn't walk in with them . They sat us together. The waitress was asked again why did she assume that we were together? She answered " because we were talking to each other while dining " I am a social person I was conversing with the people to my left as well. " After all we were in a group dinning experience and had to entertain ourselves. The chef wasn't doing it. I asked if she believed we were a party of 5 why did she split the bill and add Tips on both? She couldn't explain. The math wasn't matching. I asked ," was it because we look alike? She shook her head shamefully '"Yes" I said because BLK people share the same skin tone doesn't mean we are realated. I ask her to remove the Tip from my bill for my tip option is no longer available. To single out BLK people and add a tip Only on our bill because you have a perceived notion that we don't tip and take it upon yourself to add one to our bill bc you assumed we came together bc we look alike. Let me make your wish and dream a reality and NOT Tip. I am generally a great tipper. I fact when the grill person came to clean the grill I slide him a $5 bill. Before I received my bill.. Lesson: Food is supposed to bring nations cultures together.stop dividing us because you don't get tips from one race . 1.We all don't think that way 2.Tipping is a kind gesture and they don't have to Tip. As long as they pay their bills that is the requirement.
Stop messing up people' s experiences.
I love...
