Another unfortunate update to last review - came in today 3:15pm. There were about 10 customers inside. There were about 6 empty tables but they were all dirty and hadn't been serviced since last customer was sitting there, so we had to wait for someone to come clean a table. We waited about 10 minutes, finally a tall, skinny, light skinned AA male came out and wiped down a table for us, left it very wet. Brought a menu a few minutes later. This guy moves S-L-O-W!
While we were waiting another couple got up and came to register and asked for their money back, said they had been waiting 30-40 minutes, and the same server proceeded to argue with them. While we were listening and watching this fiasco, another lady came in to pick up a to-go order, and this same server told her he didn't have an order from her, and proceeded to tell her "if you talked to the Arabic guy then I don't know what to say" (?).
Then while we were still being ignored another lady and her daughter got up to leave as they had been waiting for 20 minutes without being addressed or brought menus. Since we also had been ignored for 15 minutes and had not even placed an order we got up and left also.
This place has gone downhill considerably over the past year. Very sad it used to be a great place. Unfortunately probably will not return or will only do take-out. Can't recommend because it's too hit or miss lately.
Probably need to fire everyone and start fresh. Owners are good people, but they need good help.
Update to last review (today's visit Jan 2, 2019 between 1 and 2pm). Wife and I came in today and while food was good, service was very slow and disorganized. The two servers we are used to seeing were not here, 2 new female servers were here and while they were polite the service was very slow, disorganized and almost frenzied. My hot tea came out so long before our food that it was cold when I finally ate.
Also, the spring roll was ok flavored but very hard and not so fresh tasting.
Kind of a let down after so many visits. While I would like to keep it a 5 star review, I must in all fairness lower my review a star for the slow service. We still recommend and will be back as this hopefully was a one-time bad experience.
(Former review from last year in September 2018) - Normally my wife and I go all the way to Thai of Austell by Cobb Hospital, which WAS our favorite Thai restaurant, but now we found this one and it's just as good and even closer to our home.
We started with the appetizers and green tea. Tea was good. I had the Tom Kha soup which is a coconut curry based soup with chicken or shrimp, I had the chicken, it's was incredible. Normally I do not like soup nor coconut but it was very good.
For my wife's appetizer she had the dumplings, they were delicious!
For our main course I had the pepper steak ( they have spicy levels 1 - 5, I went with a 3 and it was very spicy but amazingly delicious). It is flank steak, red pepper, green pepper, seasonings and onions in a brown sauce, just exquisitely great.
My wife had the green curry chicken, she asked for extra hot and it was, but the flavor was phenomenal.
Prices were very reasonable and portions were large.
Larry the owner stopped by and said hello, his wife is the also the head cook/owner.
Our server was Raymond, very cool guy...if he makes a food recommendation go with it, he's funny and sharp.
Highly recommend and will...
Read moreTonight was my first time visiting this place because my husband's friend said the food was amazing! I like Thai food and thought trying the pad thai noodles with shrimp and chicken would be great eat. I was wrong, I couldn't stand the smell of it let alone the taste. it's almost smelt like throw up in my mouth so I sent the dish back and ordered some simple wings which were unseasoned but bearable with the sauce. Finally it was time to pay, the check came out and still had the charges for the pad thai noodles on them. I asked the waitress about it and she said the older lady (who I only assumed to be the owner) would not removed the charges for the uneaten food I sent back to the kitchen. I asked 3 times and the lady said no. finally I decided to dispute the charges with my bank. I should have know this lady was rude when she yelled at some other customers who came in restaurant at 9:30 and she said they don't serve people after 9:00 because they close at 10 and if they sat down at 930 they needed to be gone by 10. The owner is rude and nasty. If she is going to be in the restaurant business and expect people to patronize her business she needs to do what right and moral, especially if she expects customers to come back. I would never go back to this place and I would never reccomend it to other people. On a scale of 1 to 10 it got a zero in my book for worser than worse. Oh and the other couple left without eating because the owner was so rude to them...
Read moreLike most people here, I used to regularly enjoy Thai Mango before the pandemic and I thought it was a hidden gem of a place.
My brother and I went here to eat and the place has really gone downhill. We were the only ones in the dining room but the place was really loud because the employees were being obnoxiously loud while chatting in the kitchen. Kid you not, the employees were having a loud convo about sweat and B.O. while we were trying to eat. Music was also turned up extremely loud: it was not a finer dining experience like it used to be. Silverware wasn’t cleaned thoroughly and the food wasn’t great. it’s still Thai so it wasn’t terrible but easily the worst Thai dish I’ve ever had. Water also tasted like it was tainted.
When we went to the front desk to pay for our meals, the manager switched up our cards because she wasn’t paying attention and tried to hand me my brother’s card. Good thing she handed it to me so I could give it back to him and not some random stranger.
Do not recommend. I would encourage anyone wanting good Thai food to drive up 278 a bit and go to Bangkok Cabin Street Food instead. Their establishment is much more professional and the...
