I was really trying to avoid writing this review.. But after today I just cannot keep quiet anymore. Initially my experiences here were great and would leave a 30%+ tip each time I had great experiences. I will say David is probably the best nail tech here and does an amazing full set and has amazing customer service. BUT the last 3x I have come here I have had less than great experiences with the other staff.. Also they treat their white clientele with much better customer service and respect than their minority and POC clientele. It is very evident based on my experiences here. They go above and beyond for their white clientele and get a very snarky attitude or act like they don't understand when their minority clientele ask for certain things or make requests.
I got a full set from one of the nail techs (I don't know his name, he has a tattoo sleeve on one of his arms) Did my full set and the job was just okay, a bit sloppy but it wasn't horrible just not great. I tipped well and still appreciated it. A week later my gel polish is peeling of and 1 of my nails popped off VERY easily. A gel full set only lasting a week is insane especially when I paid $80 for it and tipped really well! Absolutely frustrating... I decided that the next time I would go I'd try to get someone else and lucked out the next time for my full set and got David. David has great customer service and is so kind!
I came in a few weeks later and I got a French gel pedicure that took nearly 3 hours. I got there at 4 and didn't leave until 6:45. The pedicure was less than okay. The white was SO thick and I kept trying to ask the woman to fix it, she wasn't following what I was saying and it took her so long anytime she had to fix something that she made extremely messy.
I came in again thinking maybe the last time was just a bad day or maybe that nail tech was just learning. When I made the appointment I expressed, I really cannot stay longer than an hour so if it will take longer than that it's not a problem I can just come in another time. They PROMISED they would have me out in an hour. I got there and had the same nail tech as the previous pedicure. 1 hour and 45 minutes later my gel pedicure was done. The big toes were uneven and she did not refill my acrylic overlay even though I asked her multiple times.. The tech could tell I wasn't happy as I kept telling her that I really cannot stay more than an hour but she was taking so long (I feel bad even writing this, she is a sweet woman) and she apologized as she didn't realize that I made an appt and I didn't have the time... I was frustrated and just thought to myself I'll only come here to get full sets from David whenever I may need it.
I called to schedule a full set appointment, the woman on the phone expressed David wouldn't have availability at 5pm (only time that would work for my schedule that day. (I live in PA and work in DE, by the time I get back to PA all nail salons are usually closed) I told her that's fine, I'll call another time to come in. She stopped me and said David would be able to see me at lunch time and he could have it done in 45 mins. I was super happy and agreed to the time! I had David for a few full sets before and he is quick and does an exceptional job so I trusted it. I came in and the woman I spoke with on the phone said they called and left a voicemail (I did not receive a call or voicemail) and David wouldn't be able to see me anymore and he only has 6:15pm available. I took an early lunch just to go there for this. David apologized and was so sweet but I was so frustrated with the woman who scheduled me. I really could have scheduled another day and not wasted my time going there. When I pushed back, her and I guess the other owner who was a man started to give me an attitude and come off rude..
This final interaction left a really bad taste in my mouth. I will not be returning, the customer service is not worth the money you spend here. You would think that being in the Hockessin area they would have better customer service,...
Read moreQueen Nails was amazing! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great local nail salon! I rarely ever get my nails done, but I'm getting married this Saturday and figured I would give this place a try. I made an appointment for my maid of honor and I, and we both walked away very pleased! They were attentive, kind and diligent. I got a gel french on my nails and color on my toes, and they both look fabulous! Definitely would go back, planning on making this my go-to salon in the future. The prices are reasonable and they are very good at what they do! The decor was beautiful and relaxing, the massage chairs were lovely and the two nail technicians who helped my friend and I were very friendly and paid attention to every detail! Please give this local salon a try, especially during Covid, we should all be supporting small local businesses as much as we can! Thank you Queen Nails for taking a little stress away...
Read moreOverall experience was bad. I came here about 3 months ago for a pedicure and they overcharged me for gel removal when I specifically told them it wasn’t gel. To make it up they gave me a coupon. I book an appointment for today and they didn’t honor the coupon and on top of that messed up my gel polish on my toe nails. The nail tech was trying to fix it but when i got home it eventually peeled off as you can see in the picture. I also booked a full set and the nail tech was upset I asked for design and in the middle of doing my nails she complained saying “Im so busy I have clients waiting for me” but I also booked an appointment slot so it was just confusing. She was rushing the whole time to the point where 3 out of the 10 nails were crooked. She was also mad about the tip she received and just overall the...
