Ok. Not the best bagels. What's really frustrating is they always run out of the bagels that sell the most and at lunchtime have only the niche flavors few people want. Do they know how much more they'd sell if they actually made enough of the most popular bagels every day? In NYC they don't mess around with trick flavors- they focus on the top , basic , best bagels and in turn they sell way more. I don't know many people who want a turkey sandwich on a sweet bagel. But that's all that's left at lunch time. ETA the owners response. You may have been voted best bagels for the area, but that is a low bar, unfortunately. For people who've lived in NYC and had great bagels the standard is much higher. And this isn't the first time I've gone in to get bagels after noon and you had only sweet ones left. It happens all the time I try but I can't get there at 9 am. Updated. Have returned a few times , earlier, and still the same issue. I ask if more are coming out and I am told no. I'd gladly wait for the flavor I like, but all they have are bins of the non sell-outs and frankly, if I am going to enjoy a bagel , it's going to be what I want and not...
Read moreFirst time coming here, and the older man behind the counter was rushing me with my order. I have never been to this place so I assumed that they would walk me through the process like any other establishment but no, instead I get rushed without time to think or breathe. He grabbed the bagel while rolling his eyes, audibly sighed/grumbled, and proceeded to make the sandwich with such annoyance. Like how dare I order? Such theatrics just cause I didn't recite my order fast enough.
I understand it was busy, but please have some courtesy for people who need time to process, especially for new customers or people with auditory processing issues. I probably won't come again, it's way too chaotic and they just expect you to know the ropes. I was too exhausted/deflated from the exchange that I just didn't care anymore. So I didn't order the rest of what I intended. The sandwich was good, so if you are good thinking on your toes it's a good...
