My recent experiences with this restaurant have left me disappointed, and I am hesitant to order from here again. I've utilized Grubhub delivery three times, ordering an entrée and hot sour soup each time. Unfortunately, my dissatisfaction stems from inconsistencies in the orders. On the first two occasions, the hot sour soup was replaced with a different entrée, leading to a sense of frustration. Although my latest order did include the hot sour soup, it deviated significantly from my expectations. Rather than the familiar texture of hot and sour soup, it resembled more of an egg drop soup with unexpected additions such as mushrooms, carrots, and an unfamiliar meat. Regrettably, the flavor profile did not align with any traditional hot and sour or egg drop soup I have experienced, and I found it to be unappealing. Additionally, I ordered the Hot & Spiced Szechuan Chicken Combo Plate with chicken fried rice. The chicken fried rice was disappointing, featuring large, tasteless pieces of chicken that did not enhance the overall dish. Furthermore, the Hot & Spiced Szechuan Chicken failed to live up to its name—it lacked the promised heat and spiciness, and the overall taste was underwhelming.

Portion sizes are on the smaller side, which is good because you probably won’t want to eat everything. Sarcasm aside, my last few orders have been small (I’m not too demanding but a $13 combo plate should have more than 6 pieces of chicken), the fried rice isn’t cooked to order, and despite the food usually being hot and fast; it somehow tastes stale. The strip mall in which it resides is also filled with sketchy vape stores and a lot overwhelmed with pot holes. Hoping things improve as this place is dear, as well as convenient! China Inn South has long been a pillar of Holland’s Chinese scene. My folks used to take me to the old one on 32nd for many fondly remembered meals. Hoping things improve because we sincerely do enjoy this restaurant.

Their food is not near as good as north side China inn. Their portions are small- my meal container was only half full for $11.the Mongolian beef is lacking sauce flavor and beef tasted over cooked. The egg drop soup was congealed thick. The crunchy noodles are not as crisp and tasty and they would not replace my meal, only offered a free egg roll for a lacking meal and a new drive to get real food. Don’t make the mistake I made thinking the two places were of equal quality.

First time ordering pick up, food was prepared fast, staff was nice, but the food was definitely old, not fresh. I ordered two orders of the crab Rangoons (12 pieces) two egg rolls, and a quart of ship fried rice. I asked when I picked up if red sauce was included, nope. So that was my first red flag. I have never been to a Chinese restaurant who didn't include red sauce with their Rangoons and/or egg rolls. I asked for some red sauce and she included a little container with a large tablespoon of red sauce in it and just rounded my total up from $24.93 to $25... So thankfully I didn't have to pay the full 30¢ for this tablespoon of red sauce just 7¢..... Once I got home the fried rice was like rubber, the Rangoons we're basically all crusty crust, and the egg roll was decent a little greasy but decent. I would only recommend this place if you are drunk and want some fast Chinese. I will not...

The person I ordered from was nice. The food was disgusting! If I had a dog I wouldn’t even feed it to him. Paid over $50 for the nastiest food I’ve ever eaten in my life. I never write reviews but I’m hoping by doing so I may save someone from wasting their time, money and stomachs. Nothing was fresh. The fried rice tasted like it was cooked a week ago and reheated every day since. The sesame chicken was hard and dry covered in a mystery sauce my high school lunch ladies wouldn’t even serve. The crab ragoons were stale with very little filling and the egg drop soup tasted expired. I’m slightly worried how the next 24 hours are gona go for me and my kids. The container of red sauce tasted like it was fermenting and could possibly cause a buzz if consumed. Please take my advice and hit up the China inn on the north side where you will be met with amazing service and the best Chinese food you...
