Worst customer service from any business I've ever had to deal with. I placed an order to try Malena's for the first time thru Door dash. When the order came it was the wrong order. Not the drivers fault. Marlena wrote my name on the bag so the driver would know which order was mine. He had two orders to deliver. When I called to complain, Marlena answered the phone and told me it was Door Dash's fault and to complain to them. The blame wasn't on Door dash, the driver gave me what she said was mine! I asked her for a refund and she told me I could come pick up my order myself and she would give me $10 for gas. I told her that wasn't good enough and she said fine just come pick up your food and I will give you a refund. It wasn't about the gas it is about the convenience of not having to pick up a food order on a Saturday morning. When I got to her restaurant to pick up my new order not only did she only offer me the $10 in gas but hadn't even started preparing my food yet. So as I sit here and wait for my food to be cooked I'd figured I would leave a review of what I feel this business is worth. Zero Stars if I could for lack of accountability on her part and now I'm scared to eat the food because Lord knows what they've done to it. I don't even think I will give it to my dog. She basically threw $27 at me when my order was $43 and told me that was the best she could do. I can only imagine what she was saying to doordash to try and get some of her money back. I would much rather wait an hour in line at the Windmill restaurant for a good tasting healthy breakfast than ever have to deal with this place of business again. And the inside is really filthy.
Edit - Once I got home and checked the order. It was still wrong!!! Missing hash browns on one breakfast and no cheese on the other! This place and that...
Read moreFood - About what I'd expect from a smaller diner. Enjoyable if you have appropriate expectations.
Service - Marlena is a fantastic, friendly woman who cares about running her business well.
Pricing - Fair for the quality and portion size.
Overall - I recommend giving the restaurant a try. I've only visited a couple times, but they've been enjoyable, given I wasn't expecting Michelin star food (which some reviews would lead you to believe you're getting, and others critically complain that it's not).
Given the right circumstances, I'd gladly visit again. Granted, there is a lot of competition in Holland for the type of food served. However, if you're looking for a small business, friendly/family owned, no frills type of restaurant, you won't go wrong with Marlena's.
Given the nature of numerous previous reviews, mostly politically biased, I would take the overall rating of the restaurant with a grain of salt.
If you've not been, give Marlena's a fair chance, and maybe consider leaving the politics...

I was excited to see that Marlenas Bistro did all food during open hours, I got the beef burrito and it was below average but still edible, the beef was pretty bland and the majority of the flavor came from the sauce which was dominated by a salty taste.
The server who I’m assuming is also the owner didn’t check up on me during the meal despite only having 2 other tables (3 people) besides me.
There was also a high pitched ringing going on and I’m not sure where it was coming from, now everyone else in the restaurant was above 50 so I’m guessing their ears couldn’t pick it up, no biggie.
While I was excited to try out an all day lunch place I doubt I...
