J&L seafood market — Restaurant in Holly Hill

I just left here. Ordered a 10 pc wing and came right back in with it because it was harder than I prefer. The small woman at the front counter who was just so grateful 1 min ago became very rude and unprofessional when I asked for a refund, of course she didnt want to give me my money back and even told me she didnt have to. The order was almost 15.00, including sauces and she had the nerve to ask me what she was supposed to do with the chicken...I'm guessing she can do the same thing she expected me to do with it...eat it. Never going back. Wasn't even whole wings. 10 lil over fried pinky sized wings and a salad packet of ranch that taste like mayonnaise...nahhh it a hard pass for me

*to the reply: I got 12 back. The meal was 12& some change and also she refused ro refund me for the extra pk of ranch mayo because I use the one that came with the meal on the chicken. Either way, she definitely was not happy about me receiving a refund for something that I was not pleased with that cost me money...

I was visiting Daytona and was looking for some fresh fish for my elderly mom, sister and me. I googled several seafood restaurants before I came to town and ended up choosing J & L because of the good reviews. First thing I always do when I walk into a seafood restaurant is SNIFF & SMELL. If it's fishy, I'm out! When I took that sniff, there was a smell of total CLEANLINESS! There were so many choices of just about everything in the sea. I asked many questions about everything. The lady at the register answered all my questions and assured me that she wouldn't be working there if it wasn't a clean place and good people to work for. She gave me EXCELLENT customer service. I even saw her cleaning as I was walking in. And the fish we got was well-seasoned and delicious. I called my mom and told her I wanted to come back to Daytona JUST to get some more of that fish. Worst seafood restaurant I've eaten from in 30 years. Long John silvers did better. Let's start with the food, while most of the seafood looked fresh, some fish in the vase had cataracts lol. Ours was actually soggy, it was not cooked not extra crunchy(fried hard) like we asked , but rather soft and not even crunchy AT ALL. But besides that it had no flavor and was just nasty. My mom who owned a fish fry rest. said the oil tasted old. We got it Togo and couldn't eat it past a few bites. However the hush puppies were really good. I returned the next day with the fish, mullet row, receipt and a good attitude. I was called a liar and a small portion of our money was returned. No where near what it should have been. I promised a review to her to tell y'aal. So here it is. I hope I save u wasted money and trouble. Xo. ☠️. The owner was downright NASTY...
