I have been going to Bedoe’s for several years and have always been irked by the fact that when you order a sandwich that comes with mayo, they refuse to put the mayo on the sandwich (even when you ask), but rather your food shows up with one of those small foil packets of mayo?!?!?? First, trying to get one of those packets open can be exasperating - not to mention the fact that if you like quite a bit of mayo, you’d have to try to open several of them!
Second, and more irritating than the first, is the tackiness of receiving a foil packet of any condiment on your plate in a decent, sit-down restaurant! If I want to eat at a fast food place, I would go elsewhere. If I want a condiment on the side, then I’ll ask for it. I have never been to any area restaurant that does this!
Actually, even fast-food restaurants put the mayo on the sandwich! From less expensive fast-food restaurants to very expensive restaurants, I have never dealt with this frustrating, and quite frankly, inconsiderate attitude toward the customer over such a simple matter.
Whether it’s just an inexperienced or unprofessional chef that’s scared they won’t put the correct amount of mayo on the sandwich, or some other ridiculous issue, there is no excuse for having to eat dry sandwiches because a restaurant refuses to put mayo on them!
I almost laugh when I think about this because it seems like such a small matter, and that’s why I have never posted about it. However, the fact that it is a small matter, and one that customers should NOT have to worry about, I decided to go ahead and post.
A while back, a friend of mine told me that her and her family quit going to Bedoe’s because of this very thing, and at the time, I didn’t think much of it. She said they were tired of dry sandwiches and/or struggling to open multiple mayo packets when they received their meal. She said they also thought it was tacky and ridiculous. However, I agree it’s ridiculous that you can’t order mayo on a sandwich. There is no excuse for the lack of service by a restaurant in such a small matter. The last time we were at Bedoe’s, I asked for mayo on the sandwich, and the server rolled her eyes and said she didn’t’t know if they would do that. She too conveyed the attitude that it’s ridiculous that customers can’t request mayo on a sandwich.
Although the food and service are good at Bedoe’s, the refusal on their part to do such a simple thing is responsible for my 1-star rating.
Sidelines is right across the street, they do put mayo on sandwiches when you ask for it, and their food and service is comparable to Bedoe’s. So we’ll be going there in the future.

Just to be clear, the server mentioned in my review above was not a new server. Also, there have been numerous servers over the course of time who have indicated they have no clue why the kitchen will not accommodate a customer’s request to add mayo to a sandwich. They also seem to think it’s ridiculous. This is not a new issue. It’s been an issue for a long time.
Additionally, if so many customers have asked for Duke’s mayo, then why isn’t the mayo in the kitchen Duke’s? Why do customers have to deal with those small, difficult-to-open foil packets just to get their favored brand?? This appears to be another indication of a lack of attention to what customers want.
As far as being offered a side of mayo in a condiment cup, that has never been offered. The request for mayo on a sandwich is ignored or refused and your meal arrives with a small foil packet of mayo on the side.
If the owner or restaurant manager thinks things are different than what I’m stating, then they need to start talking to all servers and the kitchen staff because what I have stated above is exactly correct and is not new.
As I mentioned above, I know this is a trivial matter, so why not just fix it and a show customers the consideration they deserve? It’s ridiculous that you can’t go to a restaurant and get a particular condiment ON...
Read moreMe, my husband, my sister and her husband visited Bedoes after church tonight. No dining room crowd, in fact, we were the only ones in the dining room. Could be because the health score posted is 84. The bar was full though. We got seated promptly. Then it all went down hill. Unfortunately I didn’t get the waitress’ name. But she came to the table with an attitude. Very short remarks etc. I inquired what was a pork ribeye as I’ve never heard it called that. I asked if it was like a pork chop or steak. She rolled her eyes and said uhhhhhh it’s pork. I said oh ok is it thick cut? She did a smart sarcastic laugh and said I don’t know, it’s not flat! Ok…so I order it with a baked potato with butter and sour cream. I got it with a loaded potato, but i didn’t say anything. I just ate it. My sister ordered a hamburger steak with onions and mushrooms, it came with nothing. The waitress then gets very argumentative and just really ugly to all of us. She then goes to the “waitress podium” in the back and very loudly tells her coworkers that my sister is a Bth. So we ask for the manager and the manager takes her side! Now, she did without us asking discount our tab but continued to say I don’t know the story so i can’t correct something I know nothing about. The waitress walked by and I asked her (with the manager standing there) why she called my sister a bth and she yelled “I don’t have to answer nothing”and the manager laughed. I could go on and on but there’s no need. We eat out a lot. Been in canton all my life as all the whole party has. We are elders in the community. We tip Very well as we appreciate anyone willing to work in this environment and economy. But I have never ever in my life been treated by a young punk as we were tonight and on top of that nothing done about it. Not that my $80 tab will make or break your business but word of mouth goes a long way. I will never ever be back and will never recommend the restaurant to others. I wish you the best and hope you can get a better staff...
Read moreThis place is a really nice place to sit. The food is incredible. I love the service I get. I've been going there for about five years now. I'm the kind of person that sits in the bar at a lot. But I do have one complaint and it is definitely a big one. I believe that people are being alienated in this bar. Every time I go in there, there's a couple of bartenders that are always a selling trump products, trump stickers and hats and raffles, and you hear those one or two bartender, particularly talk a lot of crap about people who didn't vote for trump. As someone who is extremely anti, trump, because I feel that it's not a political thing at this point, but it is a moral fiber thing In my opinion, now that is just my opinion. However, I should not have to go into a restaurant and sit and have a drink which is something I do quite often there. Someone who served his country and goes in there to have a drink, and it's just trump rhetoric have you ever. in my face, and I just don't like it.. I am debating whether to go back. I'm not saying that you can't vote for Trump. I'm just saying that those of us who didn't, or don't believe in his values should not be alienated, just because this is where we go, because it's our local watering hole. Every patron, there gets to have their own opinion and their own vote. But I should not have to sit there and deal with the bartenders doing what it is they do. And it's really only two of them, and then a couple others that one of blast trump stuff and one that loves to blast her flat earther stuff and your face while you're just trying to have a drink and have dinner.. It's...
