We were in town fishing with family. We decided to grab dinner here before heading back to our cabin. We ordered the fried rockfish and birria tacos. We got 2 each and a side of the pineapple habanero salsa. I ordered the double shovel, and my husband ordered the Grace Ridge and a coconut limeade. Our tacos took a little bit of time to be ready for about 20 minutes. We did not realize that the alcohol had to stay on their separated dining area until they were gone, we had a large party, which we ordered all together, 7 people. They don't have seating to accommodate our group. It would have been nice for the server to let us know that when we placed the order. So we quickly drank our drinks and then joined the rest of our family. They have pretty fresh lupin decorating their tables. Our food was called after about 20 minutes of placing the order. It was hot and delicious. The amount of meat on each taco was wonderful! The salsa was great too. We each ate 2 tacos and were stuffed. The coconut limeade needs to be stirred often as you drink it since it...

The rockfish taco at Swell Tacos is the best fish taco that we've ever had! We also ordered the carne asada taco, halibut taco, and an order of chips with guac. They were all very, very good but the rockfish really stood out! Swell Taco is located on the spit so it's in a cool spot but in the heart of tourist season it probably gets super busy! Service was also very friendly! Seating is outside but there is overhead covering if the weather gets rainy. The rockfish taco was fried perfectly and had great flavor. The chipotle cream was a delicious addition to the taco as well. The other two tacos were also delicious - great seasoning and sauces to go with each that really elevated them. The chips had a little bit of spice to them and the guacamole was creamy and delicious while being a bit lime forward. Highly, highly...

I had the fried rockfish tacos two years ago and never stopped dreaming of them--even though I live in a place with lots of amazing tacos, none could compare.

When I returned to Homer this year I thought there was no way these lil rockfish babies could live up to my memory, but I was WRONG. The corn chip breading is really special. The tacos are massive for the price and even one will fill you up.

The service was quick and friendly. Tortillas appeared to be homemade with love. I love the sauce; it needed a bit more heat to me but I am a spice fiend and that could be rectified with some hot sauce which they had available from the stand. Seating is a bit awkward if it's crowded, but the location is top tier. I will never forget this place as...

Swell Taco? Should be called SWOLE TACO 💪🏽. These tacos were not only delicious, they were loaded!!! We tried nearly everything on the menu. My favorites were in this order: Rockfish Fried Taco, Carnitas Taco, Cheeky Halibut Tacos, Birria Taco, Carne Asada Taco and the Eloté is in its own category. The Eloté was good - seasoned and topped well. Some feedback, though: the corn on the cob itself was a little weak: small kernels. This is a consequence of whatever is available. Would recommend looking into a Eloté en Vas option to make this delicious dish more of an option for people who are challenged by eating corn off the cob. I, however, LOVE IT. Cheers!
