Our family had such a wonderful Thanksgiving week staying at the shack inn! We absolutely loved the views and being able to watch the light change on the mountains in the mornings right from the room was such a treat! We loved watching the eagles, otters and sea lions right out the window too! And being able to walk out the door and walk on the beach each morning was so wonderful! We also loved exploring the Homer area. We hiked Diamond creek on the icy trail to the beach there and that was spectacular, and we cross country skied at Eveline, also spectacular! Homer is a great spot and we look forward to returning one day!! Oh, and we were stoked to be able to cook Thanksgiving dinner right in the room! It was a cozy family holiday for us!! Sean and Ginny, the owners of the Tackle Shack, are the sweetest people! My husband and I absolutely loved the accommodations. Our King-sized bed was so comfortable, the room is beautifully appointed, the sound of the waves under our windows was so soothing, and if you happen to break your ankle, as I did while I was out fishing on a charter, there could be no better place on the Spit to lick your wounds. Sean helped my husband get me upstairs upon arriving from the ER and Ginny insisted upon giving me pillows for the trip back to Anchorage so I would be comfortable! The service was 5-star, with bonus points for proximity to our favorite dining spots. Book with them! You will not be disappointed.
