Checkers — Restaurant in Homestead

This place is real ghetto. From the employees, to the customers that go there. I never feel comfortable going there because someone is always asking for money or causing drama. It's literally in a bad area. They take so long to take your order and they take long to give you your order all while you wait outside in the steaming hot sun. The employee's face was miserable and so uninviting. They forget my sauce and I was gonna ask for it, and the female closed the window like she doesn't care. It's always difficult to ask them questions because the window, and they always forget things MORE than Mcdonalds. There's nothing but bad experiences here, why would I want to come back here when I'm not even treated properly. This Checkers has been like this for years, and now that I go to the nearby college I thought this place would be a nice lunch restaurant, but I was wrong. I would never in my life sign up to work here, there doesn't seem to be any sort of respect among each other there. Why else do the employees look droopy and miserable. I was threatened by a customer saying that he'll punch me, and I didn't even do anything but stand and wait to order. I immediately just walked off and went home. At night, this place is terrible to order from if you aren't in the drive thru. This is an honest review, the things that needed to be said about this place. There's plenty of room for improvement, I'm surprised this place still exists. With all the Mcdonalds remodeling their stores, it makes Checkers look like a restuarant in the hood. I ordered the 2 for $6.50 and I made it a meal for $2 or $3 more. I also ordered an apple pie for $1. My receipt on the bag displayed the correct amount $13.26 but the guy at the window added $4 to it demanding $17.26. I paid it bc my kids were ready to go after waiting for someone to take my order since the robot malfunctioned or couldn’t process what I was saying. He took an extremely long time to come to the mic and take my order or correct it. He was rude and arrogant. This is unacceptable. Then there was a thumb print on my burger top bun, a string of hair on the burgers cheese-which was clumpy and unmelted. Finally my apple pie was hot in a little bag but placed by their hand into the bag. Just nasty 🤮 THERE SEEMS TO BE NO TYPE OF ETHICS HERE NOR ARE ANY OF THE ISSUES (MOSTLY CUSTOMER SERVICE AND FOOD QUALITY CHECK) ARE BEING CORRECTED. EMILY MUST NOT BE MANAGING THIS PLACE ANYMORE? UR RESTAURANT WONT CONTINUE TO GET OUR BUSINESS IF U DONT CORRECT UR ISSUES-THERES NO PLACE IN HOMESTEAD OR FL CITY FOR THIS TYPE OF TRASH SERVICE.

This shouldn’t even get a star for how unprofessional and disrespectful the managers are that work here . I placed a mobile order on the app for my kids to eat and I pulled up to the window to pick it up and the manager tells me she can’t give me my food because they don’t sell the “meal duo” anymore mind you it’s still on there app to order so why don’t you guys sell it anymore ??? It makes no sense . But I asked if she can just give me something else for it or if she can just still give me my stuff that I payed for and she repeatedly says no she can’t because they don’t sell it . I asked if she can do anything else but she shuts the window and another manager comes and he just looks under the influence of something but he was very rude and told us they can’t help us and kept shutting the window on my face . This was my last 20$ that I used to get my boys food for the night . I had to call and cancel my order and now I have to wait 3-7 days for my money back it’s ridiculous thanks though my boys couldn’t eat because your workers were just unprofessional and disrespectful.
