J.D. Redd Park — Attraction in Homestead

We were there for a double header game for the Marlins RBI program and the field was not ready for the game. Equipment was left on the field. There was not any chalk lines placed on the field. We had to call the city of Homestead to get a park employee to show up. We had to move the equipment off the field ourselves and borrow a rake to rake the field ourselves before the 1st game. The employee quickly took the rake back and then left. The women's bathroom had one roll of toilet paper in the whole bathroom. A couple of players got injured and there was no park employees so we had no access to a a first aid kit from the park. Luckily we had our own ice and supplies. I would have expected that the city of Homestead would have had at least one person there when a field was rented...

Baseball fields need attention, not a bad park .. just not enough maintenance or non at all.

Batting cages are falling apart. This place has potential, I dont play tennis but they upgraded that at least.

Harris field is bigger and holds more people but it reserved for those who pay.. thats in better shape. It's a public part but everything is always locked during the day. County workers have no keys because the private users put their own lock ( don't know how...

I've between coming to this park for about 10 years. Wow, how time flies! Tennis courts are great and always available. Bathrooms are clean. Playground area is nice. Water fountain could be a liiiiiittle bit colder. I have NEVER seen any inappropriate behavior, which is great!!!! Oh, maybe its because there are almost always police cars parked in the parking lot. Thank you Homestead for providing a positive family...
