Extremely Frustrating Experience - Terrible Support and Service I have had a generally positive experience with the professors I've had, but everything else about this college has been a nightmare. The academic advising office is an absolute joke. They only have office hours two days a week, and these hours are during class times, so it's nearly impossible to get help. Plus, they donāt offer any virtual meetings or extended hours for students who need them. Itās supposed to be my academic advisor, but it feels like Iām doing all the work myself just to get simple answers. On top of that, the financial aid office is even worse. They make you wait weeks for paperwork to be processed, and half the time it doesn't even get done. I've had to email multiple peopleāincluding the superintendentājust to get anything accomplished, and nothing ever changes. The staff in Building C are unhelpful and seem to avoid doing their jobs entirely. It feels like nobody at this school actually cares about the students or their needs. Iāve been trying to get simple paperwork done for over a month, and it's still not sorted out. Itās honestly ridiculous how bad the support system is here. Overall, the lack of support, poor communication, and total indifference to student needs make this college feel like a waste of time and energy. I would not recommend it to anyone unless they have the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt's very good. Teachers actually care and want you to do great. But the counselors and advisors aren't very helpful, you pretty much have to do things yourself, even if you don't understand how to do it. They charge you to use printers and almost everything else. Also, the school is a bit outdated... the vending machines were never full, the tables outside were chipping paint, the elevator doesn't work half of the time so I'm not even sure how handicaps get to the 2nd floor in the administration office. At least they have plenty of parking. I took 4 classes and all 4 classes had the little school desks and it was very uncomfortable. I am a big girl and it would cost me to sit in those seats and have all eyes on me when having to get out of it to go to the front of the class. They should have the tables with chairs that can be pulled out the way Kendall college does. Homestead is closer to my house but I think I'll have to be going too Kendall from now on because of the chairs which makes no sense. I can only imagine how other plus size people feel. And yes! I know it's my fault I'm over weight, but we don't always choose to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI feel that it is a requirement to be condescending as an advisor. Is that honestly in their contracts because it's just ridiculous. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have stepped into the office of an advisor I have been made feel so dumb for not knowing something or making a mistake. Professors are good and great but these advisors literally look at you like you're dumb. 0/10 experience, would not come here if I...
